Hey I haven't posted in a while but for those (two or three members) that remember me I'm still looking for a nice zed cruiser set of wheels to pick up chicks in  car. Anywayssss.... I've been looking at this car in question...
    http://www.carsales.com.au/used-car...LastModifiedDate_DateTime|1&Cr=14&distance=25
(wonder if that worked?) Anyways bear with me I just have afew questions:

    1. I know it's a 20 year old car and all but what's reliability going to be like on a vg with 200 000 kays on the clock?

    2. Same question as above but for the auto gearbox?

    3. Something that I've for gotten halfway through typing up this post :)

    4. Anything else you can see from the pictures that I should watch out for or is like good stuff?

    5. Is reliability really going to be that much of an issue coz this would be my daily drive :zlove:

looks like a really clean aussie delivered zed, almost exactly like mine did when I bought it.
200,000kms+ is nothing, especially in an aussie delivered NA, remember thats only 10,000km's a year. You just want to check that it has a regular service history (aus-spec should be well documented) & that all the important bits were replaced during that 200k service. Have a look at the kits Caz, TTZed or Concept Z sell & just make sure that everything they include has been done because it is all neccessary.

Now my aus-spec currently has about 275,000km's on it, its been well serviced & as such issues have been minimal. Was also my daily for nearly 4 years.
It's coming up to 5 years & 100k since I got it & in that time I've had 3 issues reliability wise. The AFM died ($260), clutch line split (about $100 incl labour & fluid) & I got moisture in some connections which just involved cleaning them out. Relatively issue free I think (touch wood!)

This one looks completely stock & the only issue I see with it is the fact its an auto, which may be fine with you but thats just my preference.
$9500 is on the high end of the scale for early NA's but there may be some wriggle room in it & at the end of the day it looks very clean & he's just spent over $5k on servicing it. Basically it looks a lot better nick than most of the cheaper ones that pop up.

Perhaps get it inspected by a local zed guru or at least a mechanic thats is known for working on zeds.
& the only thing I'd suggest is get a plenum pull done to replace all the under plenum coolant hoses as they're starting to cark it by now & you live in sunny qld. budget $500-$600 or d.i.y. with tech articles off the site.

    cheers, Tim

Hmm that's a good idea actually... if I decide to go ahead with this one any local zedders near Parkinson willing to have a look at the car? Of course I'll make it up to you somehow. Also where would be the best place to get a pre purchase inspection? RACQ?? That's the only place I can really think of unless I go to some dodgy back yard mechanic :S

There is a ZED checklist in the Tech section, go along with that or grab a mate to come with you that has a bit of knowledge of zeds.

    Looks nice

check all reciepts, take zed checklist with you and maybe another zedder, I think price could be dropped about 1k but it looks pretty good
