Colour choice again - I love the red red as opposed to the wine red etc, it was my first preference, BUT I'm 47 and if I bought a red Z I would spend too much time apologising to people for thumping them when they start with the jokes about mid life crisis, small penis etc. ( It might be small, but ya wouldn't like it hanging over yer eye as a wart...) Sorry, I probably just broke the smut rule for the forum.
meh who gives a shit what they think... totally forget about all that when you get behind the wheel:zlove:
Haha people have told me I'm having a mid life crisis. What with buying a red 2+0 and all. So yeah, apparently I'm going to live till I'm 36 haha!
check out the zeds 4 sale section got some nice zeds there. i remember seing a red tt for 13k that was immaculate.
yea it is andy macs zed. but nsw could be with getting it transported to vic? would be under ur 15k then.
Bought DREDZ from a dealer 5 years ago, and it's turned out to be a "rippa". Sure, the dealers often don't know much specifically about Zeds, but they can generally recognise a good car of any sort if they are a reputable dealer. And there are some shonky private sellers out there too. DREDZ is red red (A2G is the colour code, sometimes called Aztec Red), and it's had absolutely no effect on the size of my penis And at 47, you're just a young'n'. From inside the car you can't see the outside except for the mirror mounts. And speculating on the envy factor it generates amongst the greater unwashed. PM member RENZED... she and her B/F (R31 GAGZ) are in Bendigo and should be able to steer you in the right direction re: mechanics. Also, have a look in the Tech section (click "Tech" on the bar at the top of the Home page) and click on the "Content via Menu system". Third item down is "Buying a Zed?, what you should know!!!" which includes a check list.
don't worry mate, we cop it here in the suburbs regardless how old we are. i heard from a fellow member tonight that he was driving through toorak and some middle age woman did the small penis pinky gesture @ him. lots of haters for zeds, don't let them bother ya. great choice in colour by the way. red zeds ftw.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, and thank you. My coit is numb from sitting at the computer for 6 hours tonight trying to get some useful advice on buying a Z. I started by asking for links or references to useful threads & existing info, your feedback is the best. Thank you from the bottom. PS, you wouldn't be a Douglas Adams fan by any chance?
The wife saw mine advertised in the local suburban newspaper and pointed it out to me. I finished a night shift that same night, and went directly from work to the car yard, looked over the car, took it for a test drive, and told them I'd have it! Went back the same afternoon with the Z31 we owned at the time, and drove home in the Z32. But this was after spending a good deal of time with the son (Baroo) looking at Zeds for him. I knew immediately I drove the car that it was a good'n'. It was the old, old story of the car selling itself. You'll know when it happens to you. Kochanski FTW!
i looked at 3. originally wanted a silver one. ended up looking @ 2 red ones and 1 black one. funnily enough red was not on the top of my list but the red one i ended up buying was by far the best of the lot and colour took a back seat to mechanical condition. common sense really. the red zed has grown on me so much i've had it for 4 years and not once did i regret purchasing a red zed. there's no set number to look at, if you come across a good one, as long as it checks out mechanically i would go for that one.
Honest and for true, I personally only looked at one hehe I took it for a spin and instantly fell in love with it It is, however, in almost perfect nick! Only prob is there is a minor coolant leak somewhere... probably should get around to finding that'un
Sound like me tom, i only looked at one too. She was in way better condition than any of the other sports car i'd looked, glad i brought her to, she's never let me down.
Like I said, these cars sell themselves! A dodgy one will always feel like crap, but a good one tugs the heart-strings!
It's so true it wasn't what I wanted in a second car. My thought process was as follows: It's a 2 seater. Don't care It's an auto. Don't care It's never gonna get up my driveway. Don't care :zlove: 'nuff said
I looked at any number of them over more than 2 years before I found the right one, well worth the wait though. You are one step ahead of me already as I only found this forum a few weeks after I bought it. I bought mine from a dealer by the way, a bit more expensive and the dealer warrantee is probably pretty much useless on something that needs such a specialized mechanic to do a lot of jobs but it was more a matter of finding the car I wanted regardless of source than specifically buying from a dealer or private seller.
