I've been looking at the Stack gauges lately, but the cost is putting me off a bit. $700 for a tacho is a bit much

Expensive but good. I was looking at the Stack combo dash But $2800 is amazingly expensive.

But cheaper than the MOTEC racing cluster at $7000

Here is a list of guage and cluster manufacturers I compiled while I was looking for a dash.

There are LOTS of different ones. Some cheap, others expensive. Even data displays that page through looking at ECU info.

Suprised nobody has mentioned these yet: Prosport Gauges

They've been pretty popular over in North America since, they're cheap, look and act like Defi's, and they're available in Imperial and Metric measurements.

I ordered myself some of the premium gauges, in white and green (black backing, lights up white in the daytime, and illuminates green at night).

    Check em out!

Here's what the Speedhut gauges look like.
Bear in mind that while I chose blue, they are completly customisable, ie face color, bezel color, needle color, font, and they are EL back lit.

Mix of metric and imperial Defi gauges. Imperial for pressures, metric for temps.

If I was doing it again I'd probably go with a Defi-Link Display and Hud or similar.

I'm happy with what I've got but probably more expensive than most people want to spend.

    Interesting gauge

I have been going out of my head with what gauges to get.

From the basic oil temp/water temp/oil pressure:
    http://www.ozegauge.com.au/

But when i list the gauges I would like, I come up with 10 ! , but I'm not real keen on a cluttered look.

    WBO2 x 2
    EGT x 2
    Water Temp
    Oil Temp
    Oil Pressure
    Fuel Pressure
    Boost
    Auto trans temp (maybe)

At this stage boost will via Apexi AVCR.

To Nistune with Tech Edge Dual WB with 6 analogue inputs:
    http://wbo2.com/3h1/default.htm

The analogue inputs can be displayed in Nistune as software gauges, this means running a car PC, gets pretty expensive. but when I consider I'm getting Nistune any way and a WB setup, the car PC can also do MP3 and GPS its interesting. But something tells me to keep it simpler.

    Then there this:
Not enough inputs and screen too small, in the right direction though.
    http://www.conceptzperformance.com/...&Car_Type=300&UID=2009011509255260.241.47.117

    Closer but not quiet:
    http://www.plxdevices.com/R-500_productinfo.htm

PLX DM-100 can display 4 parameters per gauge but its very expensive almost as much as the car PC way.
    http://www.plxdevices.com/products/dm100/

    Then I found these:
    http://www.madman.co.za/digital_car_gauges.htm#installed

They are obviously aimed at 4x4, but at $225AU per unit, plus freight, plus sensors, with 2 of the EMS 2 units (60mm x 60mm) I can monitor 7 of the 9 readings in my list, with visual/audible alarms for low and high points. WBo2 would be handled seperately but as I want that to interface to a laptop to integrate with Nistune thats not a problem.

There are a couple of interesting extras, a water level alarm built in, don't know if you could be used for water/methanol injection systems. Battery volts is a bonus.

The main draw back is that they are butt ugly, although on the buy page there seems to be another style:

    What do you think ?

    Hi Brisz,

Thanks for the links - that PLX gauge set-up looks very cool!

The alternative EMS seems a bit tool 'comercial' or 'agricultural' to me, but would do the job no problem.

    Cheers.

Hey everyone, just reviving this thread to ask a question...

I've got a speco water temp gauge in my TT and it won't read anymore than 45-50 Celsius regardless of how I drive.

I went through this thread and just moved the earth from some dash wiring to the engine and it made no difference whatsoever.

If anyone has a clue, I'd be really appreciative!

    Cheers
