How long does your clutch last and which clutch is it?

Off the shelf maybe, But the way this has been rebuilt it is much easier and smoother to drive than normal clutches. When you need the clamp load it is there.. You can drive this almost 'ALMOST' like a stockclutch. It is much easier on the foot and box than the 6 puck i have in the zed.

Note* Holding down power comes from the presure plate, the more clamp load the more power it can hold. Whether it is full face of puck style changes the way it bites and how hard.

I must say, there is a guy in Brissie, who rebuilds clutches to any specification, to note he has built rigloi's clutch for the 7 or 8 sec wrx that he has got which is a full face organic.

He is the guy that built my clutch, but i am not sure if he deals direct with the public, but the company name is "Race Clutch Australia" and the master mind is Jim Berry.

Very well priced and hell of a product. Rob i smell a groub buy coming on!!!

 

This guy comes highly recommended from alot of high HP 1/4 milers, 1st class quality.

 

Twin plate clutches come with flywheels, meaning the cage and flywheel are one piece. I supplied the twin plate and he rebuilt it.. The standard in which he built it in my eyes is better than factory. I cant begin to explain how easy it is on the foot and box.

Cant tell u how much i rate this guy... I mean i have seen alot of his product out on BIG HP cars and all they say is what a clutch!

got a single plate built by a guy in brisbane. Mechanic friend organised it all for me. Cost $1200 for the clutch kit- no flywheel. Will have to get the specifics of it.

 

yep... have to be one of the best i would think! Puts the manufacturers to shame..

 

I built a turbocharged 4 cyl (pommie) Ford Capri about 18 years ago.
I had Jim Berry build me a decent clutch for it. I didnt know Jim from Adam then and I was from Sydney at that time and deling with him on advice from someone else.

I had reason to do some changeovers about 12 years down the track.
Remember, I have never met him personally, only spoke a couple of times on the phone up till the time my clutch was posted.

After a short conversation, (about 30 seconds) this dude not only remembers me but is able to describe the clutch setup, the car it went into, even the bloody colour of the car....(I must had told him back then) after over 12 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Damn!!!!!

Anybody I have known who has dealt with Jim would sing his praises.

However, know this and take it as a very stern warning about him.......
Once you get him on the phone about clutches, you are going to have a sky high phone bill if you live out of Qld.

Im damned iffen I know when this guy gets time to build a frikken bloody clutch!!!!!!
I reckon I spent a good couple of solid hours chattin to this guy!!!!!!!!!!!
