Hey i bought my 300zx at the beggining of last year and will be losing my licence for 12 months because i am a p plater and diddnt look into the laws on driving a "turbo" or "twin turbo" for that matter. I don't want to sell my car i love it, so can the factory turbo's be removed effectivly and how if possible. any help would be appreciated
if you got the time off buy a cheap NA engine and drop that in much easier then messing around with the TT You have to remove the engine to remove the turbos any way. Then rebuild the TT engine slowly and when you have a full licence drop the monster TT engine back in.
Yep, can be done but will be crap. Lots of mucking around, turbo's off, NA ecu, NA injectors, NA headers, long diff ratio which hurts performance more along with the lower CR. Sell it and buy a NA.

get seperate engine Hey mate i was pretty much in the exact situation you were in, being a p plater and all. and i would definantly recommend getting a NA engine and dropping it in. Not only is it easier knowledge wise but it will save you going around looking for parts and getting ripped off too (not aimed at anyone on this site because i did mine before i knew about this site unfortunantly). also you dont need to worry about all those extra oil and air feds that hang around. hope it helps matt
You could just buy a cheap car and drive that around until you get your opens. Cheaper then buying another engine Sucks to be a P plater
yeah im drivin a busted ass commadore atm suck cos holdens lick balls, i dont want my car sittin in the garage for 4 years i dont think its good for a car to sit that long?
start it up once or twise a week for the battery sake but once a month should be enuff for the engine you can leve them for liek 6 months but I think the lifters start to get noisy after that coz of lack of oil.
No it isnt if you just leave it there... Have to take steps to make sure it stays ok, search, there where some threads a while ago on storing cars. If i where you id drive the pos commy till you get your opens and then over the four years build the zed into a beast...
