Did anyone here actually buy a zed when they were new?

Just curious guys,

Were any of you fortunate enough to buy a 300zx when they were new in aus? Would have been something like $65 grand brand new..

So tell me, did anyone do it and if so, still got it?

I thought they were more like umm $80k odd... there was one who owned a zed he bought from new, and recently sold it... depreciation sux...

 

Nah, just looked it up, it was $65 and $69 for the automatic. (talking about Australian zeds here, not US/Japan)

A '96 Aus spec sold for $87,195 (2+2) auto, so maybe a bit less for a manual and 2 seater....

 

2 seaters weren't sold here.
The lower prices would apply to when the Z32 was first released in mid-late 1989.

 

i think cray-z-boy owned one when they were new

my basketball coach owned 2, bought the first one in 1990, red 5 spd.. wrote it off after 6 months and severely damaged his left leg.. bought another red one in 1992 this time auto due to leg injuries , he said the first one was around 67 on road and then second was over 70

A friend of mine bought a new Auspec red auto in 1990....think he said back then it was $79000.
He still has it and has only 15000 on the clock.
I have offered to buy it many times but he cant part with it.He was offered $20000 trade in on a Volvo wagon about 5 years ago.
I still remember first day he took me for a drive....I eventually got one.....got it out of my system......I know you are happy with it now Turtle.

 

Aww, Ricky is that my zed??? lol I've been taking very good care of her I need to put on the ttop strip and the window seals, thats it for now.

She runs beautifully... i have been taking good care of her... She's not scared to do 175k/h either...lol

Stupid LCT is the main thing putting me off THAT plan though. Let some other rich mug buy it, and then buy it 3 years later when it's below the threshold.
