The aircon was regassed a few months ago and in the current heat, it is simply not coping. The fan does not blow too hard and the temperature of the air coming out of the ducts is cool but not cold. I have the targa shades on but the heat in the car is uncomfortable. Is this the sign of a clapped out compressor/fan or are they all like this? Is there any aircon upgrade that anyone knows of that will turn the inside of the car into antarctica? Thanks for your help.

it might be the heater core. Read about it in the Tech section

i doubt a broken heater core would stop the aircon from working!!

There are likely 2 reasons for your aircon being shit.
    1. Gas has leaked out again (if it leaked out before it will leak out again - guaranteed)
    2. Aircon airmix flap motor is stuffed and it sending the cool air through the heatercore.

Number 1 is much more likely.

If it was only regassed a few months ago, the first place I'd be going is straight back to whoever did the job. Any decent place would have vacuum checked the system for leaks, and added added a dye-check to easily find leaks in the future.

There are many faults that can make the aircon not blow icy cold, one being a faulty thermal expansion valve., as is the case with mine.

A good A/C mechanic can easily diagnose where any faults lie.

take it back to where you got it regassed... chances are they cocked up or they missed something

If the air is not blowing out hard means the temperature setpoint is too high or the windscreen demister maybe slightly open, see if you can feel air coming from those vents too. Try pressing the Hi speed button and see if that changes.
