lol dude. there has been numerous tests on aftermarket water pumps and they have all been inferior quality.

i can guarantee that you driving around for 3 days without a coolant cap on has overheated your engine. like wtf were you thinking? imagine the 100 degees + temps your were having all day. that sounds like a real safe idea!

btw there is a difference between aftermarket parts that exceed oem and there are aftermarket parts than are inferior.

bendix is actually oem for many manufacturers and it exceeds oem requirements.

dodgy waterpump for $40 - inferior.

    ok.. wow

Firstly hektik. you've posted in the wrong area. Secondly i dont think that mocking other companies as your opening sales line is a good technique, which is why you've received such a poor reception on this forum. Nobody likes a wise ass.

Anyways, seems like you've done ur dash, move along.

budy i dont criticize workshops this is a forum not a advertising site, i am here to help the people like me and you if they can save themself $1000 then good to them, Yes i did get dirty on them only because they got dirty on me and criticized me my car and said it was not possible to do a 100km service for cheap with good parts and a proper job, Anyone who is smart knows this isnt true and Im also dirty on them because they lied about me I did ask the mechanic downstairs several times for a screwdriver which he claims on this forum I didnt.
    I dont like liars

k wtf does ur baby crying have to do with anything, people can continue to pay $1500 or they can wake the f*K up. I merely came on here for help and mentioned that I was quoted high by UAS, Then they had to throw in there 2 cents worth and criticize my car so now I am dirty on them and did the job myself KUdos to me and anyone who can be like me

I'll re-iterate and confirm what has been said by others, then maybe change the thread title to: "How NOT to do a 100k service".:bash:

A full 100k service kit includes essential service items such as the auto-tensioner, idler bearings, cam & crank seals, and OEM waterpump.

Your $200 worth of parts bears little resemblance to a 100k kit and should not be promoted as such.

Aftermarket water pumps are a big NO NO!

DIY Members can easily complete a proper 100k service for under $900 including ancillary items such as coolant, sealants etc. The labour saving is in the order of $600 to $700.

I can quite understand your desire NOT to spend the dollars required for a proper service if your Zed is only worth $3,000 (as I think was stated in another thread).

Most of you know but for those who dont, please disregard what you read from this guy.

A 100k service cannot be done for this price. the belt can be replaceed yes, but the idlers usually fail before the belt.

Didnt do the idlers, seals or auto tensioner but then bought a new AC belt. lol

Also let me tell you something about radiator caps hektikgoose . Did you ever notice the spring on the bottom? that is designed to stop the system over pressurising, it will lift off its seat and relieve the pressure into the recovery tank before you blow a hose.

hey dude get me a price on a proper 100km service kit and i prob be interested. mines already done but id love to keep another kit on the side for that price. what you have listed is not a 100km service kit it contains alot more parts i.e idlers etc etc as you have seen in caz 100km list. your list is not a 100kms service kit. please get me a full price on a proper 100km service kit and let me know. thanx for your efforts ;) more and more great members joining our forum to help :zlove:

can you leave some things out? for example the water pump? personally i would only stick with the genuine nissan pump as many people have experienced problems with others...

I don't know about this, when I did my half 100k, I didn't replace the rubber bypass hoses (they're behind one of the water hardpipes).

Two weeks later one of them burst (had original Nissan units at 140K+ kilometres ) So had to pull half the crap off to get to them again :( And obviously the inconvenience of getting the car towed..

    Hektic = Fail!

You have NOT done a 100,000k service you n00b! So don't come on here and bag out reputable businesses and people here who clearly know a shitload more about servicing Zeds than you!

I hope your embarressed about this thread you created. You have given us all a laugh at your expense thankyou.

BTW, you said you were going to close your account in an earlier post. Want any help packing your bags? :banned:

I seem to remember Moderators issuing bans for "threatening other members", not all that long ago.
Has there been a change to the guidelines, or is this only done dependent upon who is being threatened?

i also noticed that the price of his engine went up. From 1200 in the FS thread to quoted 1300 in this thread. Without turbos. Without a 100,000 k service done. And also overheated with god knows what other problems. From a 3000 car, sitting in a yard for several years? Almost half the price of the car he apparently bought.

What i don't understand is this joker isn't a troll per say, as John from UAS seems to think he's actually encountered him. So he must be an actual guy, with a 300zx. But the amount of crap spun in these threads is utterly mind blowing. Still trying to wrap my head around it all

    Alright mate,

It's clear that you got your point across and we have listened to it. But you're not exactly the most conservative kind of person now are you.

Here's how you could have said what you've been saying all along without all the arguments, racial bullshit and insults:

Hi guys, I've been able to source and do my own 100k service for under $200. Here is a list of all the parts I used.
I will keep you posted as to whether the parts I used last.

Nothing else needs to be said, nobody needs to throw insults at one another , as if you do manage to do your 100k successfully with aftermarket parts, people here will listen with the intent on finding out how. Nothing more.

    Cheers
    Greg.
