Just putting a thread to see if people are interested in a slopping hatch skin. This skin will cover all the holes that the stock spoiler leaves when removed. The skin will need to be stuck to the hatch and then blended to the hatch use a body filler to smooth out the edges so it becomes a part of the hatch and will be seamless. I'm interested Gonzo. What about the 3rd brake light would that be incorporated or eliminated by this. I would like to see it gone and replaced with an LED bar at the top of the rear window. Tony
Here's my old zed with Gonzo's hatch skin, i thought it come up a treat! something different too, i think this ones the only one in tas at the mo..
Infill panel doesnt fit with it as the fibreglass moulding covers up where the infill sits. an alternative would be to get a vinyl sticker made up in the shape of it? or, alternativly again Gonzo might be able to make one which stops where the infill panel goes...
Ah the things we get away with in Tassie I dont think cops down here are quite as anal as they are on the mainland.. Once again though when i got mine of Gonzo he was working on one to fit an LED strip light in the lip that seemed to look alright

you can buy strip LED panels that go on your back window from pretty much any parts shop.. ADR approved so no trouble with the cops, and usually look pretty standard from inside the car
the ones i've seen generally just have a black plastic covering on the back so it looks fairly factory from inside and out. It's probably your only option if you install this hatch skin though, as having no third break light is defectable (ask me how I know... sigh)
UK skin Yes it is a UK Z in the pic as I don't have the skin yet and it is coming from the Z Centure. But they don't have a problem with me making moulds of there items after all I have the wide body kit moulds don't I. The skin I made has been posted thanks Stu. My skin was flat as this UK skin has a up ward slope I can make the skin with a 3rd brake light no problem. So with or with out light. Price Would be $160.00 with out light. I would of add price of suitable light with the skin that has 3rd brake light in it. And once I find a suitable light that would look good I will make a new would to have the 2 options. As it has been stated In Tassie we do not have any trouble if we don't have a 3rd brake light. If you look at how many cars that are still on the road that were never fitted from factory with a 3rd brake light. Are they all getting fined for it.
look up your ADR's before you start selling parts to make peoples cars defectable mate Any car built from 1989 onwards must have a third brake light, any car made before then that wasn't factory fitted with one is exempt. Just like the catalytic converter rule. :bash:
well cops dont care in WA as homo as it is, im cruising around with no spolier or panel wat so ever and cops have seen it and dont care
lol They don't have to buy it with no 3rd brake light but as I said im doing one with a light. Like no auto shop sells things that can defect your car do they. Most of the people here call me Gonzo or Dave not mate. Should have mould done in couple of weeks.
