clutch problem

my clutch has been slipping for a while but only when i tramp it if i gently push the accelerator down it will grab it is worse in the wet or when the car is cold do i need a new clutch or is there something els that could be causing it

 

Sorry mate but your clutch is cactus. They're not overly expensive to do though

 

You could also try adjusting the clutch, you have to muck around under the dash. There's a tech article somewhere. But as Niall said, you most likely need a new clutch. Approx $400-$1000 for the clutch and $600 labour

 

i got a heavy duty exedy for grants slick top for 350, it doesnt slip even the way he drives

Don'y leave it too long, you can cook the flywheel if you drive around with a slipping clutch for too long.

 

how high is the pedal when the clutch grabs?

 

not very high but it has always been a heavy clutch and iv had my z for just over 2 years and it been slipping randomly for about 6 months and i havent driven it much since it started
