To cut a long story short..

I bought a replica stock spoiler from a forum member here (who shall remain nameless) and after getting a broken one, returning it, getting another broken one, waiting for it to be returned and never happening. I took it to my painter to get the cracks repaired and fitted. The painter tried to fit it and just laughed.

The quality of this spoiler is so amazingly poor that the gaps are up to 20mm on some edges and the "straight lines" vary up to 10mm. After being assured that it would use all standard fitting and mounting points, I then had to make a custom bracket to fit the brake light (after cutting some more spoiler out to make it fit). There is nothing to hold it to the body at all, and no matter how much bog you want to put on it, it won't fit.

So Anyway - just a warning. Rant over, $250 lesson learnt.:lame:

Meanwhile, I need to get a 3rd brakelight fill strip, and as its been a while since I've been hassling Z suppliers, who is the best to get these from at the moment? (price & availability)?

    Brazilian it is.. <sigh>

Wouldn't mind seeing some pictures of the spoiler if you got them.

I got my 3rd brake light of "CrestaJohn", he's suplpied nearly all the brake lights on the forum.

www.conceptzperformance.com is often the most competative, even with exchange rates and USD conversions considered. Mention you're from aus300 website and he will often better his advertised price.

Hey groonsnout, I have the 3rd brake light panels for $287.00. :) Shame about the spoiler, Im keen to see pics too.

Tip: wherever you end up getting one of these panels check it carefully before accepting or signing for it. They are extremely fragile things.

Thanks guys - ended up grabbing one from Nissan here for $304 (trade) so not too bad I guess. Once again - trying to not violate forum rules, but I've got a feeling multiple people have been burnt by this individual.. hmn.

Your failure to provide pictures and/or details of this supposed disaster, places every local supplier under suspicion(for the past 2 months), and is hugely unfair IMHO.
A little bit of mud, sticks for a long while(and there may be a very simple cause for your problem).
Perhaps you are trying to fit a 2 seater spoiler to a 2+2(or visa versa)?:zlove::confused:

There's no need to get stroppy, you are the one who reported this problem, and you are the one who can help clear the air so that others don't suffer a similar fate.
My suggestion re 2+2 vs 2+0 is a valid possibility in the absence of photographic evidence to the contrary.

    Slightly off topic but..

..has anyone had any trouble replacing bulbs in the original 3rd brake light..??
Particularly the 2 screws either side that supposedly release the lens.
Mine seem to be welded in or something and from the looks of the Philips heads the previous owner had the same issue. :banned:
Might have to drill the bastards out. I'm presuming the nuts are just held in by the plastic frame behind the lense..??
    Any advice would be great...!!
    Thanks! :rolleyes2:
