Looks like it's been hewn from a solid sheet of MDF. Each to their own, but I can't understand why anyone would want to ruin the smooth lines of their Z with that monstrosity. It's horrible! It's not as bad as some of the Veilside stuff though, but not far off. :vomit:
Hahahahaaha, yeah 300's have super smooth lines, maybe someones on drugs, guess that explains why they are throwing up in their post. Think the point is the 300 looks a little square and boxie has long generic lines that people love breaking up, a very stock canvas for zedder's to play and modify, and no not all of it floats my boat, but i'm glad they don't like what i like so i can have a unique car that i know is mine. On a nicely finished zed, the old veilside kits look fantasic, except for maybe the veilside 300 wing, that was totally space aged i guess, but the nose and skirts look great and don't look out of place. The V2 kits did tend to be a little excessive for such an aged chassi and does tend to stick out like a new nose on an old face, but i haven't seen any V2 kits on a zed in person, so i can only go off pictures. And as for the old V1 kits, was looking over the garage and not that many as a percentage of ones that have been modded. Guess its just easier to call anything that's not stock as "veilside" but that's just ignorance to me.
Completely disagree with everything you've written. Sorry. I am anything BUT ignorant. I just dislike a lot of Z bodykits. Most compliment the Z very little. Veilside EC1 is quite nice, the others are ungainly. But that's MY opinion, nothing ignorant about that. As for your statement about the 300 looking square and boxy, that just made my day! Not laughed that hard for a few weeks.
Okay... first off, here?s a picture of a crap load of zedder?s, from this forum, who went on a little road trip. These are people from all over the country?. Can someone point out all these riced up/veilsided zed?s these old farts keep whinging about ??? Second, yes relatively speaking the zed (in my opinion) is one of the most square supercars? note I did say supercar, and am comparing it to bodyshapes like supra, rx7, nsx. It wasn?t like I was calling it a volovo, but as far as the premium brand of cars from the 90?s go, you don?t see as large, blobs of metal like you can on a bog stock zed. So maybe not square as per a literal definition, but square?er then others in its field I find the original nose, not only square and out of place, but damn right poxie and 80?s looking with its rubber wannabe centre and just down right old looking shape/style. I much prefer a modern look and feel to the car that some people have added. These look like brand new cars compared to that stock zed currently for sale in japan, above. Why shouldn?t every Zed have something to smile about Zweet?s car must be one of the best examples of a squared off zed, I can?t see how anyone could fail to see the almost American muscle style, squared off shape in this zed, and I think its one of the cleanest examples on the forum of what you can do with the zed canvas. Personally I think it looks great and I wouldn?t trade that look for the stock look posted in pic3. Curves, to me, look more like this Or this IF we exaggerate the zed, we can get now I don?t know, I?m no architect but looks pretty squared off to me. Can also see zed ?sqaurieness? (as stated above, more square then other supercars of its era) on a stock zed with harlequin paint. Right this type of paint changes colour depending on your point of view correct? so then the less curves the car has, the more the paint will look like one colour. Now even taking the photo from the front ie getting an angled point of view already, we can still see that the entire side almost looks purple, meaning only bend in the car from front to back along the sides is the one taken by the camera. The flat of the roof, the bonnet and the rear, all have a gold tinge to them. Once again kinda means their all on a similar angle You can?t tell me that some mods like this, almost giving it a lambo feel to it, aren?t a nice and different change to the poxie original. Not saying go out and do this to your zed But if you do, then good on you for being different Although I guess I can somewhat understand where your coming from I guess, I?ve been to the UK and everything there is original and borring and everyone drives a Ferrari or Rolls in the same colours. Ehh i drive my zed cause i love it, not cause i want to show off the size of my wallet or something. Thats why i did the zed the way i like it, not what others wanted.
No need to goto UK for Vapour...you can buy it somewhere closer to home. Both wide and normal are for sale, cheaper than zcentre too. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts-accessories/Performance/Body-kits-mouldings/auction-153382172.htm Does this kit exist? more info please!
So true, I love the EC1, it's such a shame it's the only one not copied beause genuine kits are too expensive for fibreglass IMO
the Zed square? hello? firstly NO!!! Secondly.... erm.. NO! lets start at the begining.... The 300Zx (Z32) is not a design from the 90's. its from the 80's. yes 1989 but thats still an 80's car we're talking about. The "sleak" (not square) lines of the Zed are what have made it timeless. those not in the know often mistake it for a new car... or a $40K+ car They are the reason Lets look at other late 80s cars.. You said RX7... i can only assume you meant FD RX7? In fact you should be comparing the Z32 to an FC And the Supra of 1989???? Both look MUCH more box like to me than a stock Z32 And lets decide... you said "super car" and then compared it to the above 2 cars? so lets look at an 89 Ferrari..... And my love of my life........ Yes even my beloved rossa, with her curved side grills gets pretty box shaped in the arse and face That was the 80's, and the smoothness of the Z32 was one of the leading examples of breaking away from the straight line and back to the curved designes that made a sports car a sports car before, and after. I see what you were saying.... but the strenght of my oposition is that you clearly seemed to be miss quotting the other "cars of its time" The Z32 is from 1989 and still looks smooth and hot to this day. Back to the bar... I LOVE IT
Gah I be a owner of the ole trolley spoiler, its still something different to alot of other cars but and it will do till i get a bodykit also top pic hehe :zlove: wheres wally? 3rd row from the back, 2nd car from the right hehe
LOL, i don't know if you've actually read this post Chilli, but i think you'll find i was defending the zed owners who others have said that we have massacred it by veilside'ing everything... so i posted a picture for those whingers to point out all this veilside gear every zed is supposidly got... just cause i mentioned old farts, didn't automatically mean i was referring to you. Hahaha and out of all the cars you could choose, why a Dino ??? The reason i even bothered to post anything up, was that I'm just sick of hearing about how much people hate other peoples mods... if you don't like it, don't get it, but don't shoot it down just cause the whingers can't afford it... it's usually called constructive criticism as in you give valid feedback, not "ooh that's crap, my taste is better" which was what some others had posted.
OK, I've read you defense(and weak though it is), I'll put you on a Good Behaviour Bond. The reason I picked a 246 Dino, is that given your expressed revulsion of "boxey" cars(such as Z32's), I felt you couldn't fail but be impressed by such beautifully integrated, non-boxlike curves.:drool::zlove:
Excellent, thanks chilli... will check in weekly and not leave the state And i didn't mean to hassle the zed to much, i love mine and wouldn't trade it in for any ferrari... well maybe an enzo, but maybe... Anyway if you saw the heap i first bought, you'd definately see what a pig she had become, and the way the paint was faded in areas, lots of abuse and definately made her look very square, needed to respray in all the curves =). Got very frustrating when people were just bagging on anything different from the norm... and 99% of the stuff they were bagging had nothing to do with veilside anyway. I'll cop abuse no worries, but not when its mindless drible.
used to be a big fan of the shopping trolley spoilers.Dunno now..still like em.....if anything id rather stay sleeper or go the whole damn hog!would LOVE to turn the Z into a transformers looking vehicle so people are like "what the hell is that"?when Im cruising....but then again I could save ALOT o dosh and sowly upgrade mods and leave it sleeper (which is more than likely what ill do down to the 16s)but i Loved those 4 exhaust tips in the middle on someone elses rear skirt..now THAT was cool!cheers.
