ey guys i was wondering who has used bendix ultimates and how long they had lasted on your cars....mine have used alot of pad in about 6-10months and the mechanic (friend of mine) reakons i should replace them soon too...so im wondering why they have been used sooo much, like to they have a tendancy to wear down quickly?

    cheers

    BigCol That's what she said...

I have never used the ultimates, so I can't comment on their longevity, but plenty of people here do. Given that they are known as a dusty pad it would also be safe to assume they are a "softer" pad. But having said that, the amount of pad use is MUCH more likely to be reflected in your driving style.

yeah, im a bit of spirited driver and tracked once or twice, but the thing is i wouldnt have thought it would of worn out that quickly...even my mech was pretty suprised with the time it had lasted...the pads still have meat on them but you can see how much they have been worn from new to now...just wondering if anyone else with ulitmates can comment on the lifespan of thier pads, because im really suprised on how long they have lasted:confused:

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

    I have Ultimates...

you will get about an "average" life out of them. they are not a super long lasting pad, but at the same time they won't wear quicker than a standard pad.

Why people use Ultimates is because they are a very grippy pad, particularly when hot. So when used on the track they hold up well.

    THEY ARE VERY DUSTY!

I won't use them again next time, because i don't use if for the track or whatever, i will be getting Bendix Advance pads, they are almost a dust free pad and still nice and grippy. just not as good performance if you work them hard like on the track. so doesn't affect me.

Green stuff pads are also known to be a low dust pad also, but are a bit pricey i've heard.

i know they'nt super lasting pads, and they stop you pretty quickly but the thing is 6-10months is a short time, i honestly thought they would last something like 1yr minimum....but i do agree they are VERY dusty pads:p...but if they are going to wear out that quickly and its not only because of driving style i might have to think of another option...also how long have yours lasted?

    I use Ultimates

These pads work really well and are much cheaper then the comparative Greenstuff pads. They do produce their fair share of dust, but all brake pads will emit dust to some degree, since asbestos was made illegal to use in their production quite a few years ago. Agree with others that your driving style is the biggest contributing factor to wear and tear of a brake pad.

In 2006-07 when my TT was a daily driver the fronts lasted close to a year.

    Agree with Benny...

I plan on getting out on the track again, but I will just change pads over. The ultimates are so dusty, my rims will only stay clean for a day after washing

I have a second hand set of ultimates on mine that I bought from a forum member around 18 months ago with a set of slotted rotors and my car is a daily driver. I think it depends mainly on your driving style although my mates say I brake too late for their comfort. They are all family men or tradesmen though and drive things like Statesmen or Rodeo utes and not anything that will go and stop like a zed

    Hawk Pads...

I'm changing to Hawk pads soon. I know all the American's use them and swear by them so they must be alright. Don't think many Aussies have caught onto them as yet.

I'll let you know how they go...

    Cheers

I wouldn't use the ultimates again too dusty. I have got about 25000k's on mine.

    They use them for track...

Most of the guys over there use them for the track as well so they hold up pretty well...I think they'll be comparable to Ultimates, maybe even better...they seem to last longer too and aren't as dusty.

    Cheers

i have them on the front im pretty sure

    reason i think so......

    Heaps of dust

everyone in the country knows when im stopping

    "squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel"

Will change them for Bendex Heavy Duety (i think thats the ones) when I change them. Thats what I have on the rear.

Still a good pad and no dust and NO NOISE

    Bendix Ultimate Pads

    Hi Ryanlok15,

Yep, I've got them on all wheels (front and rear) I am happy with them so far - my car is really only a weekend warrior so the kms are low - cannot help you with how long they will last...

But they do stop very well, that's for sure. Some other members had trouble with squeeling. I do not - I think you had to be careful with the initial 'bed-in' process as this is very important.

Only real negative and this is cosmetic, is the brake dust can be annoying since the standard pads I had on the car before were basically dust-less compared with the Ultimates. But the car gets a bath every other week so that's not a real issue to me. I've found it really is your driving style at the time which creates brake dust deposits - go easy and not much dust appears at all.

Oh yeah added bonus - saves fuel too:D

I have zero squeal with my ultimates. They feel good when they heat up.
