Hey my best mate is in the middle of purchasing a 300ZX TT but just a day after the agreed sale the owner has contacted him to say that the slave rubbers are gone or sumthing ?? Bascily the clutch wont engage/disingage

Basicly the car has had a new preformance clutch put in it and I am assuming that maybe the fitter dident know that the bleder was were the powersteering tank is. I am asuming that he has not bled it properly or at all and some how messed with it some other way to get it to fit. Say if there is a fine adjustment scre or somthing maybe he has just loosend that and done it back up or maybe there isnt a fine adjustment screw
(This probably dosent make any sence but I honestly dunno what to do with it).

I thought there was a thread on this a while ago anyone remember ??

Any ideas as I clearly dont understand much in this ariea ????

Any help would be much appreciated.

    cheers mike

What are you actually asking? Do you need help in understanding how to bleed a clutch? How to adjust a clutch? or what?

have you had a look in the tech section or the on-line manual?

Can you give us a bit more info?
You say that the clutch won't engage/disengage.
Is there any pressure in the hydraulics or is there massive amounts of free play in the pedal? Is it really soft or really hard? Is there fluid in the the master cylinder reservoir? Has the slave cylinder been bolted up properly (may be loose)?
You said he drove the car, did it play up at all while it was driveable?

Might not have been bled properly, or it could be that the pedal was depressed when there was no fluid in the system, that can damage the O-rings in the master causing them to leak. The pivot ball may have broken or the slave cylinder could be "stuffed". There are a heap of different reasons why it might not be engaging, start by checking the fluid and go from there. If the fluid is full, does the clutch fork move at all when the clutch pedal is depressed? If it doesn't then there might be excessive air in the system so try bleeding it.

Fixing anything that isn't working for an unknown reason is a process of elimination. Start with the easy things and work from there.

Wouldn't suprise me if the mechanic didn't know how to bleed it, overly difficult for something so simple :p See if you can get some ash knocked off the price of the car, shouldn't be too expensive to fix.
