    I'm in.

    Count me in.

I think the idea of the being split that way is fine.

Re the PTU location etc, doesn't really bother me.

    Yep count me in.

I think the way your splitting them is good, obviously as long as its functional and they can be removed ok.

Im not fussed about the heatsink bits but it might be a place for dirt and grime to build up in edges like that and be more difficult to clean.

Definately get rid of the PTU spots. I mean if people insist on putting their PTU back there then they can redrill the holes themselves. Its just so much easier and more practical to relocate it and then the clear ones look nicer.

As to the costs, yeah the moulds are extremely expensive. Good thing is the plastics themselves are only a few cents to make once you have the mould, but then you need to recover costs.

What numbers are you after? Im guessing about 20 initially to get it going? I have a feeling the majority of your sales will be in the US. I'd send an email to Coz and see if he wants to sell them.

I'm going to trial fit one of the designs today to see if they can be removed with the water pipes attached.

Initially I'm looking at 15 - 20 people at around the $325 mark.

The US market is what will (hopefully) make me break even on this venture but I don't want to advertise it until we at least have a prototype.

Coz will definately be in on this too. :)

The point was buy it in a block (Can you buy it thick enough ??) and CNC machine it, then there is no $10,000 tooloing cost..

I'm still trying to work out a way for the timing covers to be designed so they can be easily removed.

Everyone please don't worry about how they are made, I'll work out the best quality for an acceptable price.

I think keeping the stock pieces (3 units) would be best, but don't think it will affect any function to have them together.

I will be interested in a while from now, but defiantely interested :)

slightly off topic. but i cant help but imagine how cool clear rocker covers would be. and maybe a clear fan shroud to match the timing cover!

    okay its nice to dream.....

what would be the point of clear rocket covers.....its not really covering anything that important, or is it....i mean i can understand why timing belt would be good to covered, but then again you can run without them.... sorry about the offtopic tom, just thought id vent a little...

your rockers would get covered in oil as soon as you started your engine any way :p

Yeah, but then you could see the oil sloshing around and also the colour of it and would even see the cams a bit. Not sure it would be the best idea given that it is a key piece of the engine, but would be VERY cool if you could do it :zlove:

I'd be interested in a set, assuming we can find a way to get them off without taking off the water pipes.
