last night a p plater decided she had right of way on a green light and turned right infront of me smashing my car!! its not that bad though, the bar is bent, rhs foglight and indicator smashed.. luckily the headlight bonnet and rhs guard are UNTOUCHED.. Now.. I have a bodykit sitting on my back verandah waiting to go on and my car was to go into the panel shop for fitting and full respray monday week.. should I be happy or sad thats shes hit me? I'll probably have to pay less than half of what I was going to pay now!! talk about mixed feelings haha.. the only 'problem' i can see now is I might have to stay black (for insurance coverage purposes) - not that its a bad thing but I DID plan on changing the color.. I'll post a few pics later but its not really that bad, still certainly driveable
If you have it repaired by the same guys that it's booked in with, I can't see any reason whatsoever why there would be insurance problems with colour. It has to be painted anyway, so the actual colour won't make a difference, it's the labour costs which make up most of the bill.:zlove:

That's No good mate ! a smash is a smash and they still suck no matter what the outcome ! At least it was booked in to panel shop b4 hand ! What kind of bodykit you putting on ? and what colour are you changing to ?
id be happy, you can take it to your own repairer, they will send him the cheque or directly to you and you get done whatever you want to your car
yeah kit and color is a secret for now haha - its not super special or awesome but i'm just not 100% on the color so i'm not saying anything til its done the repairs won't be done at the same panel shop - they don't do insurance jobs, which is a bummer for me UNLESS they just pay me the money for the damage rather than pay the panel beater who does the work.. I guess i'll have to wait and see
Once the quotes to have the damage have been done get the repairer to write out an additional quote for the additional work ( bodykit & respray) and get him to note on this quote that the work would be caried out inconjunction with the repair. Contact your insurer and advise them of the extra quote regarding the additional works. wont be a problem at all...... your only taking the oppertunity of the car being off the road to conduct additional work. got it looked at today, 4 of the 5 places I went to won't work on it because it's an import the person that hit me is insured with allianz and the shop whos doing the work can't quote me as its up to allianz what gets replaced etc which i think is bullshit. I told the guy about an additional quote for a respray and to have my kit fitted but he said its not possible with a company like allianz because they are a major pain in the ass.. he also said they will suggest to repair my front bar! its urethane is it even possible?? or legal?? (its a major structure point right?) i dont see this going very well.. its booked in for next monday and apparantly its going to take 5 days to fix
ah bummer mate, i hope ti gets fixed soon, i dont want to ruin the day for you but normally u have to double the amount of time insurance repairs take to get fixed, id say 2 - 3 weeks before its fix Hopefully it wont be that long.
well all they need to do is get a replacement bar rhs foggie and indicater, spray the bar and fit it all.. and hopefully blend the paint halfway up the car
HSC is finished.... All the P-platers are out... who think they own the road cause they have the higher school certificate... or think they do anyway. Too bad at school they don't teach kids common sense.. Id be mixed too, when its over you'll be happier as long as theres no long term damage GL with it all
