now the question is can i fix that easily or need to replce the belt? and if I need to replace it where can i buy it cheap. I have a spare timing belt can i use that???

I need this done urgentlt that y not going on ebay or concept Z need something in Perth?

your answer is in the tech section :D ,1/ try adjusting it first,2/ no you cannot use your timing belt for a fan belt :bash:  ,and 3/ you can get a fan belt from any auto shop

read me and learn how to adjust a fan belt

get a candle or a bar or soap and rub it on the inside of the belt, that will do the trick.

here we go again,he wants to tighten it,not clean and moisturize it :bash:
Try adjusting it properly,if that doesnt work then replace it,rubbing soap on it is only a temporary fix

Next you'll tell us that my idea to "just turn up the stereo until you can't hear the noise" itsn't any good either :p

in all seriuoseness,... if its JUST at start up, there's nothing wrong with the "moisturiser" option (i used a slight spray of WD40/CRC but i believe you can buy some actual "anti-squeel" spray for this job)

But if it's all the time as you've descibed, hell yeah adjust or even replace the belt. Cheep fix. No excuse to bugger your car down the line because you ignored a small fix like this.

you should never use wd40 or grease on belts. it causes them to slip and they can come off

rubbing soap??? wouldn't that make it more slippery and then might lose the belt??

Yep. Same as my WD40 idea.... even though I know heaps of people that have done it to stop a start up squeek.

Think the trick is... TINY TINY bit.

Of course if you "lube it up" you're in for a world of hurt.

LOL had a colt that died that way. Oil leak sprayed onto belts, water pump belt popped off, Im overtakeing a truck when total loss of power and black smoke out the back.

That car died big time lol. $1000 well spent HAHA (cost of the car that is lol)

if its just slipping a touch of maple syrup or honey, it helps to stick noisy squealing belts....

Thats a damn good tip. Also good for Hayfever, AND... when driving your car after purchsing interstate, and the head cracks in the middle of the Nullabore, you can survive by eating your car.

    Perfect!!!
