    Hey guys,

I've bought some Pioneer splits for the front and I want to run them off a kenwood 2ch amp that I have. The thing is - im not sure where to mount the amp. I've had a look at all the threads on this topic but most of them have pics that dont work or talk bout full boot installs. I basically just want the amp hidden and for it to run the front speakers.

I looked at trying to mount it under the passenger seat and it fits but if someone sits on the seat them it hits the amp (which is bad). I also thought bout mounting it on that back panel behind the seats. But its only made of crappy cardboardy type stuff that probably wouldnt be strong enough.

I don't really want to mount it in the parcel shelf coz I don't want ppl to be able to see it.

Is there anywhere else that is suitable? Its not a very big amp - just a 2ch Kenwood.

Anyone got any ideas or pics of what they've done - it'd be a great help

Btw its a 2 seater jap spec

I've seen amps mounted on the panel behind the

passenger seat on a 2 seater zed. I'm not sure if the panel was rienforced though.

mount it under the passenger seat. ive had two different sound systems installed and your best bet is to have it under there

the panel behind the passenger seat is very light and not sturdy enough.

imo you are better off using subs and puting less stress on the splits if you are looking for high volumes

you shouldn't mount it under the seat purely because of the fact that amps need to run cool, so having a seat above it wouldn't do it any good..

    put it in your boot?

In my 2 seater, my amp (700w alpine m350 monoblock) is mounted between the interior and the chassis:

Not screwed into the chassis... make yourself up a wooden support that fits on the underside of the amp, screw the amp and the wood support together, and use some of that industrial strength velcro (comes in rolls, and is REALLY strong), glue it to the wooden support + some to the chassis, and then velcro onto the chassis.

Would be too difficult to screw the amp straight onto the chassis due to the fact it's a spherical bulge in that area, and you'd have to have magically tiny hands to get it screwed in :p

Or if you're really slack just velcro it onto the chassis I guess :|

Ive got my pioneer 4 channel amp (huge thing) mounted to the panel behind the drivers seat. The panel is strong enough to hold an amp, just need to use washers over the mounting holes so the bolts cant pull through.

My amps are mounted behind the front seats. They are bolted to the board behind and I have had no problems with them being there and they are nicely hidden from prying eyes!
