    Hey all

Just noticed yet another issue with the Z (strange how they keep popping up) while tightening the belt and flushing coolant etc.

My clutch fluid levels were at the minimum level. Considering Ive only been driving it a short while since rebuild (3000kms) and the levels were topped out the leak is significant.

There was no leaks in the engine bay, so Ive checked the foot well above the clutch pedal and behold! Clutch fluid down the firewall.

Cue pissed off face and swearing.

How do i go about rectifying this? New master? Are they hard to replace? Should i ensure the car for 18000 and put a match to it? :p

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Andy

I rebuilt mine myself for under $100, but a complete new master is only about $150. There is a bit of an art to removing the clutch master cylinder from the car due to the cramped conditions and takes a bit of patience to do, so you may prefer to let a professional handle it:zlove:

    Leaking Master Cylinder

I had my master cylinder leaking when i first bought my zed, theres a kit you can by that has a new spring, piston and the rubber boot. You can get it from Nissan for around 50 bucks. I also used a de-buring tool on the inside of the cylinder too.

yeh ive had consistent problems with my clutch master/slave (stopped now touch wood). replaced master twice and slave once. getting the master out is a fiddly job, you have to get in the pedal assembly and disconnect it from the pedal itself which means getting on your back and sliding right up in there to remove the pin then push out the metal thingy (excuse non technical terms). should take 1 hour tops getting it out and 1 hour putting back in. most places can rebuild them for you
