Hi all I'm new to all this so take it easy, I got 300zx for the past 3 month. Now i need the help big time. My battery died 2 days ago so I got new one today 24 hrs after won't start my new battery shows only 0.05 volt and I don;t know what to do. I got my friend battery it starts again but in the car come bell(bing bing) noise coming under the dash and on the front of engine bottom left hand side is noise to like broken fan what in the blue hell is happening???? what should I do?? Please help
checked alternator? when the car is running, check voltage accross the batt terminals, it should read ~14v if the alternator is working properly. If it has seized, it could cause belt slipping noise you heard and also failure to keep your battery charged.
So the battery is losing charge very quickly. It sounds like it isnt recieving anything from the alternator. Has the car ever died while driving or did it just not start up after a long time turned off? If you can jump start the car, hold a voltmeter on the battery while its running. If its constant around the 12.5-14.5v (ish) then it should be ok, might not be the alternator. If the car is switched off, and the battery is still losing charge, then you have something in the system drawing power while it shouldnt. Check/ change the alternator if thats the problem.
me again I just try friends battery no power on my car but one of reley is making noise ASCD what is that/ as per belts they are all good all working as I conected to friends car his car starts to lossing power .

Don't cost much second hand, but my new non-genuine one was about $450. Is your charging system check light (picture of battery) lit up while the engine is running?
I found problem Z works fine as engine running battery shows 12v all looks good BUT when you turn the lights on engine shuts down every time I turn lights same story and voltage goes down with in second to 0.05V what is it???? help thank you
Alternator is farked. When volts drop below 10v ECU shuts down. Take Chili's advice re workshop and get alternator rebuilt if that is the only problem diagnosed.
