Im geting some new tein flex suspension and want to know if the tein system is any lighter in weight compared to the stock suspension does any one know

    thanks

    it'll be heavier.

    How much heavier ? :(

    A bit :p

Not much really, just the added weight from the adjustable perches, all the extra threaded pieces and the pillow mounts.

If you are going for flex,it must be for handling capabilities,so even if they do weigh a bit more, youll gain in the handling department over crappy stock suspension :)
Why dont u wait until you get the flex, then do a weight comparison and then you will know exactly the difference

I have the teins on lay-by  and it will be a few weeks before i pay it all off , so i though i would ask now about the weight comparison becouse my mechanic got me all excited when he told me that if i put coilovers on my car it would be lighter then the stock  and i belived him :bash:

thats cool,as you know i have Tein Flex :zlove: ,and you can tell your mechanic that on earth they are not lighter than standard nissan suspension :),now on the moon ,thats another matter (they weigh the same)

You lost me? Weigh the same on the moons???

Astro-physics 101,as there is no gravity on the moon, you can drop a car and a feather from 10 feet high, and they will be hitting the ground at the same time
    Why,because there is no gravity :D :D :D
Which means if you drop tein flex and standard suspension ,they also will hit the ground at the same time ,everything weighs the same on the moon lol (you cant say you never learn something from my non directional thread replies)

Of course there is gravity on the Moon

Tein flex will still be heavier than stock suspension on the moon, it will just be lighter than on Earth. Approx 1/6 the weight I think.

Oh, in that case you're wrong. If there was no gravity on the moon, the astronauts would of flown off when they took a step on it's surface. Every body in the universe has a gravitational force (you shoulda done astrophysics 102 ya dropout :p ). Even we have a gravitational force, though very small.

The moon has about 15% of the gravity of Earth.

By logic any planet etc of significant size would have some sought of gravitational pull.

Gravities of the Earth, Sun, Moon and planets
    Body

    Multiple of g

    Sun

    27.935
    Mercury

    0.3774
    Venus

    0.904
    Earth

    1 (by definition)
    Moon

    0.1654

    Mars

    0.376
    Jupiter

    2.528
    Saturn

    0.917
    Uranus

    0.886
    Neptune

    1.137
    Pluto

    0.059

Now in space tein's would weight the same.

Who ever said Tasmanians weren't intermalectual

Even in space, they would be affected by gravity. The machine you weight them on would exert an attractional force on them HAHA.

sorry to interupt, but there are MANY things wrong with this statement. on the moon there IS gravity, jsut significantly less than on earth due to the significantly weight of the moon (as i recall gravity on the moon is somethign like 1.7m/s^2, on earth its 9.81m/s^2). so your flexs will still weigh more on the moon...

by the way if theres no gravity things wont fall at all theyll just float around. also, the thing about the feather and the boulder, that applys on earth (its one of nextons laws) and staes that every object (neglecting air resistance) will fall at the same rate, regardless of their weight.

edit:...come to think of it everything you said was wrong

You are correct in your statement re: these comments being wrong, however I believe that Sir Isaac Newton would be somewhat pissed-off by you accrediting his discoveries to some clod called Nexton.:p:biggrin::zlove:

Sir Isaac Nexton ,must be his alias,at least if you are going to quote wikipedia cut and paste correctly :D
AND AS FAR AS "as i recall gravity on the moon is somethign like 1.7m/s^2 ", on earth its 9.81m/s^2). ,GIVE IT A BREAK   :bash:

OK,OK, IM WRONG,I FAILED ASTROPHYSICS lol

The tein's will always be heaver because you'll never take them into space.

funny how all these guys (who dont have tein flex, but have seen a photo lol ) have answered your thread isnt it :bash:

    now back on topic people
As far as what i said, yes they do weigh heavier than stock suspension, anyone want to argue that point ??????(silence is deafening) i didnt think so
