Been checking over my car recently, maintainence coming into the hot summer.. and thought id check my coolant system... came across the article on the det sensor and was wondering if you can access the det sensor if you take the motor out? (thinking about relocating it). And because thinking about detailing my engine bay and making sure everything is in its place and perhaps plan for a respray :p

    Cheers

If you have the motor out you should be able to get to it, otherwise its a upper and lower plenum pull...
but mine i found wasn't in the same place as the pic in the tech section - it was dead centre of the block, so no way I could have reached it from the back even with EGR removed...
I'll find a pic and post it for you

Gotta love the det sensor... just got a mech to change my under plenum hoses too! Will look into it.

Yes you can change the det sensor with the engine out. I did so with mine. The only other part that needs removing to access it is the EGR valve but that will be obvious once you see it from the back.

Tip: change the loom as well. Don't want to go to all that trouble only for it to fail a little later.
