I'm working on a device that is used in conjunction with the TTS for manual owners to be able to hold the throttle flat to floor which will be rev limited and then full power when the clutch is released. Obviously this is ideal for the drag or circuit racer for that advantage on the start line. Any comments or who would be interested in fitting this to their own Zed?
I had this with my E-manage Ultimate. Never got it working properly (but I didn't try too hard ) Very nifty idea and a good way of shooting flames
But what does the factory limiter cut? fuel or spark, i like the spark idea.....lets get some flames shooting, then i'd be interested!!
I think it would be better to cut spark, every second igintion signal or something like that. You don't want to be pinging your engine to death evertime you go for a hard launch
some stand alone systems.. like haltech, microtech and the like have some sort of preboost system with traction controll.. so that u can sit on the line reving the car with 15 psi ready to go as sooon as u dump the clutch... would be lovely if perfected... im sure the factory ecu can simulate this.. good luck wit it!
Look at the Traction Control made by race logic. Similar idea, cuts fuel and/or spark depending so it doesn't flood the engine or kill the plugs.
id rather be cutting fuel, if the injectors keep firing it can soak the plugs. I dunno about holding it on the factory limiter. on my zed if it hops off the limiter for a bit when i shift into second it feels a bit sluggish. its hard to explain tho.
i have a bee*r rev limiter that should do that i still havnt put it in yet but it can be set up like that , if you are trying to build one cheap thats great thought , as this bee*r thing cost heaps for something that i would have thougt would only cost a few dollars to make
There is a similar system also in the murcielago. You press a button, then floor the throttle, when the revs hit 4,000 the clutch will bang in and you'll be off. Is this what your trying to do?
I am keen but 1 big problem I dont run a factory ECU so I guess I am out unless its an adaptable system
yeah i understand that, in effect all you are doing is setting the factory limiter and subsequent condtions at a lower RPM, but as i said with my car when it has been hitting the limiter for a bit it doesnt run too well when you get going, but my car is or was running a heavily rich high rpm tune which might expain it
