Autobarn sells a range of tools, including air compressors, by a company called Powerbase. Cant find any info about them on the internet. There's a nice 3Hp/50ltr belt driven compressor that they make, but am uncertain about buying a brand I havent heard of before. Anyone have experience with Powerbase tools?

    Cheers

    Don't waste your money!

Depending on where in Vic you are.......go to the GMC "factory disposal" seller just north of Barry Road in Campbellfield and pick up a GMC for about $50:cool:

If you're not doing professional work or spraying etc they work really well. Best part.....if it dies:( ....you've only done a spare fifty and you can go back and get another!!

    well...

I intend to do some spraying in the future and use a wide range of air tools in the garage, so I'm after a semi-decent compressor. The money for this compressor was a gift, so I can afford to splurge a little and get something decent that will last for ages and do lots of stuff....

Like I said, just never heard of Powerbase.....

havent heard of that one, just dont get the 2.5HP one from PooperCheap. I went through 5 before I got one that wasnt faulty.. alot of stuffing around.

what is your realistic budget?, i went and spent $780 on my aircompressor and its fantastic, spraypainting all the air tools etc...
    DONT GO CHEAP!

these are one of the tools that you need to spend the $$$ on for piece of mind.

    well...

    My realistic budget is $500-$600....

I have opted not to get the powerbase one, mainly because I cant find any info about them on the internet or anywhere else, and dont want to spend that much money on an unknown unit. Instead, I have opted to get a 2.2Hp / 50litre, belt driven compressor from Total Tools for $599.

    Cheers
