It's great to be in the 12's. The car had more, the tyres are fantastic, but the 60' time is still what needs some improvement.
My Launch was loaded up to 2900 rpm, which was as much as I could hold on the line without generating wheel spin. Maybe I need a little bit of wheel spin there so I can get into good boost earlier. Full boost is not really available until 4000rpm.
So after the launch full boost occurs about 1 second after I start moving.
If I can drop my 60' time down by 0.1 which should be achievable on those tyres, then it should take that off and some more of my total time.
So maybe a 12.5xx. We'll see next time I suppose.

in typical scumpy fashion i rocked up 2 hours late lol massive navigator ERROR!

you guys may have noticed me, im the one who took 45 seconds just to find where the lil signal lights are.

i had absolutly no idea what to do and my 1st launch was at like 2-3k cos the lights were too fast for me and i was on low boost that ended up in the 15's lol...

sooo then second time round i launched abit better, smashed a 180 (RAWR!) was zooming along....no 4th gear lol 14.9 my exit speed=164 his=174 and he only ran a 15.something ahahaha stupid 4th gear i just ended up revving out 3rd.

only got to run twice, my mate came along so i was on rotation with him, same price to race as it is to watcg...why not.

wish i had a couple of more tries to get the launch down packed and short shift into 5th...might be better then revving out 3rd eh.

 

didnt run , i only got my car back driving again earlier in the day and have a mass boost leak at least thats what i think it is.... so didnt see the point in running when i wasnt hitting boost till like 4, 4.5k rpm but i only live 15 or so mins from willowbank so i can head back out for a run any time (also didnt have a passenger so couldnt of just run for free ) still had a good time watching, and meeting some new people

mate... ive driven in brissy like 3 times lol, also got lost on the way to tech day!

but yeh bad navigator like i said... got us in the wrong direction 3 times, ended up driving thro the city twice (wtf?) i didnt even think i would make it so i was just hell of relieved to get there lol.

shame there so many people there, woulda been good to run a couple more times.

 

haha good job, the key is to get there right on five. the mate of mine in the vw got something like 8 runs i think, 3 or 4 he was only lined up for about 30 secs to a min at the very start of the night.

Hey Bob,

That top speed isn't too far off the mark. My 13.2 was done with a 104mph trap time.

But the main thing is to try and get the 60 foot time down. That basically translates to your launch off the line. If you can get the car to stick with decent speed you'll get the 60 footer down and that will take alot of time off the final 1/4 time.

 

Cheers. I'll have to practice the launch. I think I held close to

3000 revs on the line and the wheels started to spin before the xmas tree ran down, so I might have backed off too much before the actual launch.

I also think one of the kids snuck in the back seat while I wasn't looking.

Good time for you too with 13.2. I guess 13.19 is going to be my new target . Look out:biggrin: .

I see a transbrake in your near future Pex! That will shit all over the brake torqing launch method, you could drop half a second off your time with a well setup transbrake auto or maybe more.
