whats the top speed attainable from a totally stock (engine) z32? i as a z31 owner have no idea, although it surely should beat mine. 235km/h

I've hit 205kph with room to spare on a stock engine, stock exhuast, pod air filter and running 12 psi (no idea if boost = higher top speed but meh).

    NA, TT, Manual, Auto ??????

Top speed will vary depending on configuration due to differing gearbox & diff ratios.

Here is the revs each variation will be doing at your stated 235km/hr :-

    TT auto 5100rpm
    TT man 5500rpm
    NA auto 5600rpm
    NA man 6100rpm

Theoretically, the TT auto should have the highest top speed but it depends on if it "runs out of puff" before utilising the longer gearing.

The auto TT's are geared to a top speed of over 300  but they haven't got the power to do so :p

    Aus specs were tested...

by nissan on release at 254km/h, because they arnt limited... (aus specs are NA 2+2), mine hit 225 at 5800, but i dont see it getting really much faster than that:zlove:

AFAIK, the TT and NA had the same tested top speed... 253kph. The NA just takes longer to get there! Manual or auto makes no difference to the top end.

the manual auto bit makes sense, but i would still think a TT would have a bit more push of top speed as bigger explosion due to boost???

No, the Auto has a much higher final drive (g'box, not diff) than the manual. Check the ratios, I believe they are somewhere in the tech section.

from last time i checked manual TTs are geared to around 290km
the NA box about 270km/h and the auto TT box something crazy just over 300
    iirc 310km/h

    Gear ratios......

    Diff ratios =
    TT : 3.692
    NA : 4.08
    Top gear =
    Man : 0.752
    Auto : 0.692

So Dougie, your NA is not (and never will be) faster than a TT :bash:

    TT, 5spd.

    7000rpm 299.33 km/h
    7200rpm 308.99 km/h

    T56, 6th gear. TT diff.
    7200rpm 463.48 km/h.

    100kmh ~1600rpm
Oh, and first gear winds out to a lazy 80 km/h or so. :)

yeah i worked the same thing out, from memory WITH Z33 Track wheels on, TT Manual, with diff swapped from auto, 3.692 looking @ 308km/h @ 6700?
this is what im loking at doing for the V8Zed

or if i keep the NA diff 7300rpm is needed to achieve 304km/h

ZDUCTIV, you'd need to be doing 8,000rpm

To be doing "a lazy 80 km/hr or so" in 1st gear you'd need to be doing 8,000rpm or have an OS Giken close ratio gearset.

7,000rpm in 1st will JUST see 70km/hr with an oem gearbox

Also, what sort of overdrive are you running to do 1600rpm @ 100km/hr  Even if you are in an auto TT (much longer overdrive than manuals) you would only see 75km/hr @ 1600rpm

Nah, Ian, I wasn't making that claim (I hope I don't come across as that dumb!) The info is just something I read somewhere (wish I could remember, so I could throw up the reference).

I just tried to relate your diff and g/b ratio figures to an engine speed of, say, 5000rpm to calculate the road speed, but then I realised that the rolling radius of the wheel/tyre combo would have to factored in as well. Now my brain hurts!
