turbo back exhaust, pod and some boost jets will get you a decent amount of power for a good price too

    remember thats flywheel hp...

    420hp is 315kw
315kw flywheel is approx 230-240rwkw .. I think thats reasonable for those mods...

If so, then yeah, 230-240 RWKW is doable with an aftermarket ECU if it's well tuned at 15 psi on stock turbos.

    cheap mod

    Put fuel in it,
makes it go so much better!

I'd be ensuring the thing is running properly first- ie 100k service, throttle clean etc etc.

what's the point in bolting on all the "crap" (no, not crap but for this arguement, it is) when you haven't got a solid base to start from.

i don't know, you may have a solid car already, but it doesn't hurt to make sure.

    best of luck

Best mod is to get rid of those silly turbos and go NA power  No leaky coolant lines in impossible places, no blown turbo seals etc :p

    Seriously,

    Plennum pull with bypass
100K service kit unless it was done recently properly by a good mechanic (AMEC, Gavin Woods, Zed4Life)
General services including ALL fluids, Engine, diff, g'box oil. Also do brake and powersteering fluid. It's a 10:1 chance that everything except engeine oil have never been done. You should've seen the magnet on my diff plug

Once all that's done it's go fast time.

    $30 manual boost controller
    $50 boost gauges
    12PSI and go weeeeeeeeee!
One of the best mods ever is the HID conversion, best $250 I have ever spent coz I can see at night now! :D

After that it all gets horribly expensive and before you know it your bank account is dry.

Congrats and welcome. Learn from our mistakes. As mentioned above, the first is to ensure that you have a good base to work from. Ensure all maintenance has been done or get it done. Then sit back drive around and read the forums (not while u r driving). You will soon get an idea of what is what. Then you can start to mod. And expect a low bank balance, cause there is so much you can get.
    Happy zedding.

Welcome. Always nice to see another 2+2 TT. :D
    ^^^^Agreed

Mine was one stock as well. Well..... almost, save for the HKS Super Dragger Catback and HKS lowering springs on the rear. There's plenty of poop already there and it's best that you make sure yo can maintain that stock poop first.
How a bout a power flush of every fluid in the car.
If the susupension is still all original oem stuff, it may be sacked out by now. Do a search for what I considered a basic upgrade / replacement alternative to oem suspension. After all, what good is all of that power or planned new power increases if you're not able to keep it under control.
I'd look to ensure tires and wheels are in good shape as well as the alignment being spot on.
If exhaust is similarly the original oem stuff, it may also be in line for a freshening up. New SS DownPipes and Midpipes may be in order along with a good Catback.
The AIV delete is also something to consider.
A pop charger filter is always an easy and inexpensive mod.
Confirmation that all grounding wires are up to snuff or simply replace with a higher/better quality cables - yes, better grounding wires will make a difference to the overall picture.
Depending on previous owners servicing history, it may be time for replacement of all coolant lines, and perhaps all vacuum lines and more than likely all fuel lines.
Again, all these items are above and beyond the 100k servicing.
As they say, first things first. Not such a good idea to have stary ideas and dreams of POWER when the foundation is completely stable.
You may just find that after all of the above mentioned suggestions you're bank account may be a little tattered anyway and may give you a sense of reality as to just what kind of new ride you have acquired. You're in a different league now with the Z and it may be best to learn the simple lessens the easy way. Good luck. :)

Welcome to the land of the z's

Remove the standard air filter box. Replace it with a pod filter.
    3 inch turbo back exhaust.
    Intercooler.
Boost controller set at 12 psi.
Start with these mods first. You will be happy with the performance for now.
Later you can install an after market computer.
Wolfv 500. Im getting 280 kw at the rear wheels with above mods running 15 psi. on standard turbo's.

mate, before you do any mods at all, unless you have receipts from where you bought it that the full 100k service has been done, get that done first priority and it will cost you the best part of 2k to get it done, read up about it on the forum, welcome and TT Z's are awsome

i just read a few of the other members advice regarding the 100k service, take it

I'm surprised that it's taken this long to come up so I thought I should say...

    :worthless:

haha I've been waiting to use this new smiley :p

Seriously though, as everyone else has already said, preventative mainteneance is the way to go.
When I first bought my NA I had the 100k service done while it was at the mechanics for the roadworthy. I didn't have to get it done, but I feel abit safer knowing that the service has been done. Since then I've spent alot more money on maintenence and preventive maintenence than I have on the visual side of things. I'm still saving to get the plenum pull and under plenum hoses redone.
Make sure your car is running mint first and then start thinking about increasing the power output.
