So you have to send them an exact spec of what you require as well as your crankshaft? Sounds like a good pirce to me :D (ponder, ponder.....;) )

    Cheers

Yeah thats what they suggested so they get it 100% correct. You can use whatever bore stroke combo you want within reason and would need to be carefully measured by an engine builder with the heads and block in situe. I like the idea of it being a custom ground crank from a lump of billet 4340. It would be very strong and Crower rate them to over 1200hp on a fully static and dynamically balanced setup.

If you send your 92 crank then i would be interested in geting a kit also with the same specs maybe the can do a better price for two kits?

Why send the parts to USA

    G'day,
reading your threads, first thing, any increase in cubes is a benefit provided it's done properly ;), if you're doing a full rebuild, it's going to be the combination of mods that's important. But rarther than send your parts over to the States, why not have them measured locally at an engine rebuilders, surely you'll save yourself considerable cash and still get all the information you need, journal sizes, stroke, piston offset and rod length, etc. You could also suck their brains for info, don't know if you know anyone up in new shit wales:eek: , but there's a bloke in shitvic :D that might be able to help you out:
Speed Works ph.(03)98760600 or mobile. 0412915862 and ask for Tony, he's a great bloke and builds an awesome donk, if he can't help you with info or whatever, he should be able to put you on the right track.
Cheers from shitvic, the state of strokers and engine swaps

I heard the new 350z's aloy block is not as strong as the 300z's vg and they cant handle two much power

That will all be done locally spec wise for the engine with stroke bore size etc etc. Crower just need the original crank etc so the new one can be an exact match to the nearest thou to ensure perfect fitment which I think is a good thing really as an old block might have slight descrepancies than a fresh spec block which is what info they would have. The JUN kit is off the shelf and sometimes has to be modified slightly for clearance reasons.

Thats right to do the same to the VQ they over bore the block and sleeve the cylinders with billet steel bores, great for big boost nitrous etc.

Zed34 they quoted $5500 USD for one kit and $5000USD for 5 kits when I enquired about a GB so say there wouldnt be much difference if any in the price of the kit but considerable savings would be had in postage I would think. However they will need your crank too so unless you have a spare build engine or at least a build block you will have to strip your engine down and it takes about 8 weeks from the time they get your crank and specs. They can do up to a 3.5 litre capacity total so Crower say but will see once I talk to the local engine builders etc and research it a bit more.

    so basically this kit includes.

    new machined cranks,
    new pistons
    new piston rings
    new rods
    new rod bolts?
    new bearings?
    moddified sump?
    new bearings?

anything else.. and what size are u stroking it 2? 3.2 litre?

I will have to check exactly but for definates

Brand new custom billet 4340 machine stroker crank
    Brand new custom forged pistons
    Piston rings
Brand new custom billet 4340 rods
    Custom bearings

Sump shouldnt have to be modified but if so will be done locally.

Overall sounds like a lot but in reality when you add it all up individually it gets expensive too like

    Nismo new crank 760USD
    ACL forged pistons 1300 AUD
    Argo rods 1400 AUD
    Bearings maybe 300 AUD

All up looking at close too 4 grand AUD for a relativelt stock displacement.

Planning on going to at least 3.4 litres overall and hopefully 3.6ish with a sleaved block. Will have to liase with the engine gurus a bit here

i thought the general thing that was done 2 increase displacement was fitting 88 or 89mm oversize pistons if the block is in good shape and can be machined out that much. is it really possible 2 have anything over 3.1litres ?without having 2 get a custom block built?

Short answer is yes the stroker kit. You dont need a custom block as such you can bore out your current block to whatever you require the fit the custom stroker crank and pistons etc. These parts differ to standard parts as the piston travels further down in the bores i.e stroke which in turn increases the volumetric capacity of the cylinder. You can also heavily bore out the block and sleeve it which a lot of top fuel drag cars etc have this way they can have larger bores but dont sacrifice relaiability usually associated with thin cast bores due to taking out too much meat which results in cracking and exposing the water jacket. These sleeves are precision machined parts and well suited to custom piston and ring combos and are usually deemed more precise than general block boring.

So its not really a custom built block but can be if in search of bullet proof performance and relaibility and very high numbers talking in the region of 1000hp plus with Giggle gas.

Hope that clears it up a little

Im using a stock block with oversize pistons to give a displacement of 3.2 :D
