    Hi

Just wondering how much(in $$$) it would differ for full comprehensive insurance and rego, between a turbo and non turbo version of Z32?

When I had an aus-spec Z, I was paying $1,800 p/a, with a $200 excess. The quote for my current TT is $1,800 p/a, with a $1,790 excess

You will find the major difference in quotes will be due to the fact that all tt's are imports, hence the higher price. Most insurance companies wont even insure the tt.

I pay $1600ish with a $1200 excess for a modifed NA2+2 5sp Import thorugh Just Cars. Rego is the same as they are both 6cylinders. When I was thinking of buying the TT was only a coupla hundred extra peryear.

Depends on your age, your record and area

For me, the only price difference between TT and NA is the value its insured for. I don't pay any more for a TT cause i am over 25 and have a half decent record.

For some people i know the difference has been quoted at over 4 to 5 grand.

Morale of the story, pick up the phone, ring an insurance company and say i got 300zx NA and TT and want to insure them both, can you pls quote me up. You'll get a personalised figure which no one on this forum can tell you with any certain accuracy. At least then you'll know what your looking at.

so many things that can make the quotes different.

i called everywhere for a 20 yo to insure a modded TT, 4 places would do it, justcars, young n cool, elders and famous... elders is exellent instant rating one at only 1500-1600 a year, but only for unmodified versions.

justcars=2400, 2000-4000preium depending on what im claiming on
young n cool=2800 with a smaller exess, not by much tho
    famous= 1900 with a far smaller exess.

all of them were insuring me for market price which is 12 500, but with famous they replace the actual car, not the value price. (ie. same mods same condition etc.)

ive had no tickets, and one insurened claimable accident.

so it depends on, year, mods, location, model... heaps of things, some places wont even do you if you have a sub in the boot!

p.s. famous put me on rating 3 straight up which i think is pretty good.

my car is a 1990 TT manual 2 seater targa, kitted, mags, audio, fmic, brakes, susp, bc, tt, bovs, oil cooler, guages, clutch, pod... you get the idea.

if its a imported NA it will make a massive difference too... as i remember alot of places wont insure you because its a import.

I always thought Just car third party fire and theft payout was market value upto 5,000 but I was getting another quote off them today as I turned 19 last week so my rating might have gone up and now they cover fire and theft upto 10,000.
I'm with justcar as no other insurance companies would cover any sort of engine mods. Like AAMI wouldn't cover me becuase the car came with a cat-back (pfft only like 2kW increase  )
But I'm trying to get a job at AAMI because they give you a 50% discount on insurance if you work for them. That's a pretty sweet deal. :)

Ive been scouting around for insurance and after alittle research it seems that just car gives the best deal. ill be paying $735 for 3rd party fire and theft and excess up to 10 grand (by the wa im 19 turning 20). but didnt know that famous was so much more cheaper then just car. gotta call them up tomorrow.Anyway would anyone have a clue which company would be good for greenclips ? as in the cheapest i heard zurich is pretty alright but would anyone else have any recommendations ?

I just sold my NA for a TT and the difference is $10 per month extra, now approx $95 per month.
But im an old bastard 40+ and a reasonable good driver/crash history.
    Regards

    AndyMac Better than you

That must be $10,000 value in the case of fire or theft. That cannot possibly be your excess. Seeing market value is barely higher than that.

That's strange. I have my Home and Contents and my Commodore insured through CGU and when we tried to insure the Zed with them, they said they don't do Grey Imports:confused: .
