Well, here's the ultimate in factory-tuned Z33s: the Nismo 380RS. 3.8L stroked VQ35HR and Nismo suspension, it's gotta be fun, even if it's not as fast as a TT Z32.

    What do people think?

The 300ZX will always be the ultimate fairlady, until they bring out a new age 300ZX or a factory TT 350Z.

I don't really like that rear bar...

Front bar's no better either really...

I don't mind the style of the stock 350Z, in fact it started growing on me. And there are some nice bodykits going around for it. But the 300zx still looks better IMO. And its faster too (TT)

it pains me to say it, but it think the Z series may have peaked with the Z32.
the 350z seems to have been side-linded by the GTR's to being a weekend roadster.
unless of course by some stroke of devine intervention nissan produce a
    300zx GTR

I'm gonna go against the grain here and say that I like the 380RS. If I had the chance and the money, I'd definitely buy one. Why? Because it's very different to the standard Z, not only in appearance, but in power. Circa 350hp from a 3.8L V6 sounds like plenty of power to me, plus I think the rear styling is pretty sexual. However, I can see why a lot of people don't like the front bar - it's a bit too smooth.

    Plus, it's a full-sick NISMO car!

That rear end is uuugly, looks like a bloody VW beetle.

    I don't mind standard Z33's but Z32's are still better.:zlove:

I think the bodykit looks really bad, but the car is really cool

I like 350z's, and whils ti will agree that the z32 looks better, and goes better in astraight line (tt), show it some corners and the 350 will pwn

Sorry to say, but the 350z wasnt developed as a sports car per se, it was developed as a "shudder" retro styled roadster for yuppies, rich divorcee moms and tryhards. Like an expensive triburon  Hence the styling and lack of motorsport victories that the Z32 captured. Unfortunately Nissan put the R34 GTR as thier flagship sports car for this era.

Come on, the z series was never about being a stripped out road rocket, that obviously goes for the z32 aswell, the 350z has recieved extremely high praise from all respected performance car journalists, saying that it is an old school style sports car that keeps with the best of the best. Just as an example, Motor has awarded it many extremely highly regarded awards (among them performance car of the year twice from memory). It probably isnt as ground breaking as the z32 was back in 89 (still truns heads now, can only imagine what it would have been like then), but it is still a dam good car it its own right

I have to disagree. I was extremely disappointed when the 350Z was released. Its poor performance, hideous looks and twitchy handing are a real let down. It is the creation of a car company that is struggling and trying to play it safe and make a commercial car rather than trying to push the boundaries.

As for keeping up with the best, that is more a reflection of today?s market than the quality of the 350Z. The glory days of Japanese performance cars subsided, the RX8, 350Z and the Aurion are mere shadows of the RX7, 300ZX, 300GT, Supra etc.
So when talking about the 350Z you have to keep in within the context of the watered down competition because it simply does not stack up to the past.

Ive seen a couple in the city and though its obvious that some people did take fast & Furious III way to seriously, rarely, but a couple do look nice. With the right rims and lowered accordingly, they are nice. Personally I think in actual fact they make a very sexy girls car!!! Class and a touch of performance.
    Each to there own....

I think this quote pretty much sums it up:

    Plus:
    Style
    Handling
    Nismo

    Minus:
    Performances below our expectations
Specifications too similar to a regular 350Z

    Conclusion:
The Nismo 380RS is not the beast that we expected

It's an Audi TT "look-a-like", trying to be a Porsche RS, and it fails dismally at both attempts IMHO.
Nice Touring Car, but definitely NOT a Sports Car.
