You should use that as a plug and rip a mould off it. Then make a keeper in glass or carbon

    Hmmmmmm, I'm not feelin' it.......

Sorry, I guess I'm just too practical minded but if I'm going to add some bling it's got to have some function to it too. Function first, style second. If the style gets more attention than the function - great, if not, still got the function working for me.

Perhaps a reverse semi hidden grill that allows better flow through ventilation might peak my interests. God knows, the engine could use some help in that department. Now I'd be focusing on your hood scoops more, than the car as a whole.....but that's just me.

    Looks amazing!:zlove:

I must say it has to be one of the best 300 bonnets I've seeen and most definitely the rarest!!!(don't even know if thats a word, but hey i'm an engineer not an english teacher:p ) hahaha

Well done and love the flow lines all the way to the bottom of the bar!!! Very impressed!

    Cheers

    Looks good mate

Must feel very rewarded at the moment. Although its not my cup of tea i think a wide body kit would top it off.

    red32 You talkin' to me?

My initial reaction was WOW!. I've always loved the look of the XB and that bonnet captures it nicely.

BUT (don't you hate it when people begin a sentence with that word?), after thinking about it for a while, I have concerns about how the radiator air flow would be affected... air coming into the engine bay through those bonnet scoops may well increase the air pressure inside the engine bay, thereby reducing the air flow through the radiator and causing overheating problems. Sorry to rain on your parade, but these are my thoughts, expressed as invited by you.

    Cosmetically it looks great, though!

I think it looks great..:) My only concern is the structural side of things. But I'm not an engineer...:) Looks awesome though...

I always thought this would look good, can you please post up a "full Frontal" pick from varying heights ie head height standing 10ft way, and waist level at the same distance , and even a side on shot of the front at about bonnet height ??? PLS:eek:

top work.. thats not an easy task

im with tekky though.. if you want it to last use it as a plug for a fibre mould

fibre-steel joint will crack in about 12 months depending on how much sun/heat the surface sees

Yeah mate its a fair bit heavier. Around 5 kg's maybe? But it hasn't
affected anything so far so im really happy with it.

Yes mate it is the polyurethane 200 Spec front bar with genuine Nissan indicators. I bought this from Simon at TTZed in early 2006 and am extremely happy with it. The driving lights fitted from my stock front bar. I found with persistance (which is needed sometimes), Simon was great to deal with.

Thanks for the compliments mate, But I am one step ahead of you and the scoops have been blocked off from the back. I fiberglassed them closed to stop the air from getting in and under the bonnet and causing possible instability and other problems.

Im no engineer either, but I know that the bonnet is bloody strong and supported. From the start, I only cut out sections from the Zed bonnet, leaving the main support beams in place. Then after the XB sections were attached, i bogged, fiberglassed and also used expansion foam to fill in any gaps. I am quite confident that its strong enough to handle the driving conditions.

Haha gee your asking a bit there buddy! Na of course i can do that for you, seeing that you used your manners. Ill get them up for you some time this afternoon.

Ok. Then here is the big questions i would like to know guys. How would I go about (possibly) making copies and/or a fiberglass mould?

Cheers everyone for the comments and criticism. Much appreciated.:)

    Willo.

I like it mate. It standsout but doesn't ruin the zeds natural lines. I also like the way the racing stripes work with bonnet too :D :zlove:

I reckon it looks cool. Very different. Personally i would've gone with a carbon fibre bonnet but this still looks very good. Pat on the back

Looks good, Some pre-designed old bodykits look good on Z's. A friend had a 260Z with a old ford gt wing and it looked hot. Ive thought about using the celica gt4 scoop on a Z as i thought it would suit the shape. I just looked up an article now, AND LOOK WHAT SOME BASTARD HAS WRITTEN IN THE FIRST BLOCK!
