I was just wondering if taking the targas off and in the boot is of any use....i ask this as wont it increase drag...also doesnt the windows down have the same effect.....im talking obviously at a higher speed as in highway etc

i noticed that my other car lexus gs300 makes a defening noise, ie the wind does when i have only the rear windows down, dont know the theory behind that.....

To actually answer your question, yes taking the targas off will greatly increase drag and the same goes with the windows.

Best car ever to cruise with at night compared to holden thrashboxes my mates refuse to let go.... But I have my amp 1600W bose attached to my car under the carpets in the boot so that it heat sinks onto the cars body ps i dont want idiots seeing and trying to break in.

ibbi .. targas off is the way to go .. just magic in this

    northern segment of god's own ..:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :D :D :D :D

but a tip .. play around with your two windows height .. you will find a level to suit just where you are at for a particular mood/ cruise/ music/ around town .. whatever .. i have my favorite window settings for each of these .. there is no one setting .. try it, you will like it .. as the actress said to ....... ???:D :D

i read once in a manufacturer's handbook, that having bothe front windows down 2 inches reduces fuel economy by 2mpg at 100kays, imagine what the targa's do !!!

    hehe

I don't think fuel economy is on the top of most people priority lists, it's a "Z" afterall :D

    maybe true,maybe not

mythbusters did a thing on that last year, but the car with the windows down, went further than the one that had them up,go figure:D

the reason i said that is because fuel economy is directly related to drag

Yes, correct. The mythbusters experiment was comparing driving with your window open to driving with the air con on. Above 70 put the air con on, below 70 windows down. I drove up the coast with the targas off once, wont be doing that again anytime soon, got sunburnt, half deafened and used a lot more fuel than usual :(
