Hi... I cleand my coolent sensors the other day and my car starts as normal...
but today when i stopped at a round about.... as i went to take off my Zed had no power and started to slputter a bit and sounded like it was going to stall, so i pumped the accelerator a few time very quickely and kept it going then it started to take off and was ok again..... any ideas what could be wrong here?:)

    stalling

Hi there, I had them same problem a few weeks back. I ended up when getting the hoses under the plenum bypassed and at the same time got my injector connectors replaced as they were deteriating and also my o2 sensors were showning faulty readings. I had previously done my coil pack coonectors so I new they weren't the problem. Since then it's been running great. Hope it helps..

Your base idle is too low...

Get someone with consult/datascan to raise your base idle to 750~ +/- 50RPM ... Simple 30 second job screwing the idle screw counter-clockwise.

While you are there, check the Throttle Positioning Sensor after idle has been fixed- should read 0.45~.

And recheck that your coolant temp sensor (on lhs rad hard pipe) is connected properly...

    off topic a bit

i've tried adjusting my base idle but i find that i can't even move my wiring harness without disconnecting heaps of connectors, i was just wondering if you can pull the harness through the firewall a few centimetres to allow a little movement in the engine bay?, the reason i need to move it is to get access to the iacv connector i think it is or the other one that you need to disconnect whilst the motor is running so you can adjust the idle

    mate..

base idle adjust sits on the right throtle body (lil black box with a connector.)

I think its like one screw u need to lossen up for adjustment.. (up n down)

    :)

NO Shaq that little box is the TPS (Throttle Position

Sensor). What Blackheartedprofit is talking about is setting his idle via his idle adjust screw at the back of his motor. But before he does this he should disconnect the A.A.C. (Auxillary Air Control) valve. But as he is saying it is very hard to get to. What I would do if I were him would get access to Datascan and then you can disconnect the A.A.C. in the program and then set your base idle via the idle adjust screw. Get Datascan yourself Blackhearted - well worth the investment. Cheers.

    Ordered a Cd manual

well thankzz heaps for the info... my idle is quite high as it adjusted itself
it use to slow down as the car warmed up to around 700rpm in Drive my temp was moving up this morning but the idel remained at 1100 rpm so i opened the bonnet and pushed doen on the sensor on the radiator hose and the idle started to drop back as it should.... i also lost the clip that holds it on:( it fell down somewhere but i cant find it:( for me i dont know 99% of the sensors what they are or where they are so i invested in a reapir manual on CD.... now to learn all the jargon.... i will finally see what a plenum is lol

o2 sensors ect... i want to replace most sensors if i can afford too anyway just want to say thankzz for all the advice at least it points me in the right direction:D :D :D :D :D
