goose honk is? Which is possible to get if you put a pod filter on and what you would have to do to get rid of it? Will it damage your car if it happens? Just concerned as I have heard this can happen if you install a pod filter Thanx for any advice Fran Ps. Try to keep it clean lol!! :zlove:
I did try search but I had trouble opening it Tried last night but alot of pages were really slow... Sorry
from memory, wind tunneling through the throttle bodies causes the goose honk sound. totally harmless.
Its the sound that tt z's get with tired springs in the re-circ valves. Usually u'll get it in a tt auto where around say 4 - 5k rpm if you have your foot down you'll hear it. Its a common thing and wont hurt the z. If your sick of em replace the recirc valves with BOV's. hope it answers what it is.
Goosehonk typically occurs on a Zed that is a TT and has a POD filter. I have not experienced it on a N/A (but happy if others have, and can add detail). Basically, the reed valve on the factory recirculation valves is fluttering / causes the goosehonk sound - and btw, there is no damage done by this. Mine currently sounds like I have BOVs, i.e. it honks when I back-off after hard throttle, but I understand results differ. Can be stopped through work on AIVs and recirc valves. Try search for more info, e.g. : http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=251871 Cheers, Peter
mine use to goose honk a set of Go Fast Bits BOV's fixed the problem. i just got the basic ones, $180 each and they sound nice too
PMSL@OzJustin!! OMG I would wet myself laughing if my car did that lol!! Poor thing sounds like it's in pain
OMG...tooooo funny First time I've heard it like that. Nearly pissed myself. Mine is just starting to make a trace sound of a "Goose Honk" but nothing as sickly as in the clip.
