Thank god I'm changing my insurance policy...

Just received my insurance renewal in the mail. I've had the Zed covered with JUST CARS INSURANCE since owning it. As no one else would cover me.

Anyway, guess how much the agreed value has dropped to a mind blowing $12,800 LOL
and on top of that, the premium is still over $1,000 per anum. Fook dat!

Anyway I was expecting this, & I visited SHANNON’S INSURANCE over a month ago. All the details have been collected, & a new policy written up. Premium is almost identical, but the car has a agreed value of over $20,000. Slight difference there!

 

Yeah just cars are the only ones that will touch me 2k on a rating one and 12500 agreed value and you though yours was shithouse

My premium is $1,316 a year for the 350Z rating one. Heaven helps me if i have an accident though ...... some of the excesses are astronomical. Luckily the car is a weekend only driver. CGU wanted to charge me $3,500K per year.

 

my excess is about $3,800. $1,100 age excess, $1,100 car excess and $600 normal excess, if i crash cresta will have another zed to pull apart

 

Well i had to get quotes the other week... Shannon's would not insure me becuase my car is not garaged... Like how stupid is that... I rang up Uniquecar which is Vigil... They would no insure me becuase i park on the bloody street at work... Just car's wanted 1600 odd full comp agreed for the same price as you Jono... They didnt do pay by the month so yeah but the excess was $450 for me on a rating 2...

Anyways i rang up suncorp and now got full comp though them its not agreed but yeah its $1737 or something like that lol and i got pay by the month.. The price also includes a car hire... My excess is $450 also on a rating 2... Just to get insure is a joke really... go though all the crap and in the end they say they cannot insure you lol how gay is that...

 

This is the except reason i stuck with 3rd party RAC. Way i see it, short of a write-off or stolen, I'm better putting that 2k every yr in a bank account to cover maintance costs as they arrise (since 2k excess, most dmg to the car will cost less than that to fix anyhow).

 

Just Car wouldnt touch me (well my car, I have no strikes on my licence), but NRMA did. It ended up costing less and I dont anywhere near as much if I get into an accident.

But when I was showing him what I have done to the Zed, he said to me “You definitely pass as an enthusiast”

I'm with Shannons now, have been for 3 years... zed is insured for $20K no questions asked....

I am with Shannon's. Never got asked if I was in a car club. Have agreed value for $20,000. They paid up when my last one was stolen, and I am very happy with them.

im with young and cool at the moment. i find them pretty good, they're cheaper then just car and i can pay by the month. only problem is that she's only insured for 13k.

RACV agreed value $24,000 with a lot of extra's ,mags,dvd,sony2,dumps&test pipes tv etc, $1,400 per yr use to be $1000 per yr been with them for 3yrs

 

I'm with Shannons as well. They wanted to know my life story when I applied and I asked for a $15K agreed value (as it was still stock). After the long wait for them to calculate a premium I pretty much wrote them off before he came back to the phone. Lucky I did give them a chance, came back with $540/year and pay by the month with no additional fees. Don't know of any other insurance company that could even come close to that although I remember Mr KY for life got somewhere in the $400 ish.

Was at a car dealership yesturday up here on the coast and was talking to the dealer as u do because they wont shut the fuck up and insurance came up and he was saying that 2 days ago shannons insurance has bought out just car insurance not sure if its true but sound like a maybe

what i have been told is that shannons, just cars and aami are all owned by the same large company but all operate independant of each other to cater for the seperate sections of the market, aami for all the normal cars, just cars for all the people with dodgy history and shannons for the car lovers like ourselves:zlove: so there would be no need for shannons to buy out just cars, sounds like the car salesman in doing what they does best
