    Urgent help needed please,

My car has sat for ...hmmm 2 months lol, and it seems to of lost all the clutch fluid,

We refilled the res .... bled bottom bleeder at slave cylinder and then the top near hicass .... however i can still not get any pedal preassure. There seems to be an enless supply of air lol....

in the res .. after a few pumps on pedal there is a heap of tiny tiny bubbles ..

Is this looking like a stuffed master cylinder ???

or an issue with the booster ??

or possible a prob with vac lines as my cuz mucked with them too ??
(however i cant see how vac lines would put air into clutch fluid line?)

If you are able to help much appreaciated as i have a track weekend, and if in melb anyone know good zed mechanic capable of fixing it ?

    I had a similar problem

Ended up being my clutch booster.

I blocked off the vaum line near the check valve. You may have a busted diaphagm.. Only thing though i didnt lose fluid. I did get bubling.. It may also be that your master cylinder is busted.

When i lost pressure and was losing fluid it was my slave, so i replaced master, slave and lines in order to keep the whole system running well it is very often that after getting a new part in these systems the other one will often fail so consider getting the whole lot done all at the same time

yes when we replaced the clutch, one of the guys rebuilt my slave ... however i cannot see any loss of fluid from there, but if the rebuild kit wasnt done properly i guess thats where the air could come from.

Baz .. how much $$ did the master cost ??

Genuine cost me $130 but you can get copies for about 70 i think

    That is correct

I am not running a clutch booster at present.. Looks like i will remove the whole assembly... I like a nice heave clutch and its one less thing to go wrong...

how much work is it to get rid of booster, i dont like it either i am used to direct cable heavy duty clutch and i dont like the fact my clutch was heavier in my lancer than it is in the zed

    Well its abit of work

I'm not sure about the removing the whole assembly as yet.. Baz not sure if the 89 is different.. (Probably) but it usually means removing the dash to get the booster..It is mounted on the firewall. You then need to seal off the vacum lines.. It needs to be done properly otherwsie the vacum leaks would be HUGE....

I have to sniff around and see what the go is... Happy to let you know/assist if you want Baz.

ok i will show you... Gimmie some time... I was actually looking

    '

    For the assembly diagram yesterday...

Basically there is a check valve to the right of the booster which follows down to the clutch booster... You need to close off the pipe initially...

from the hicas area ????? drivers side engine bay at front ?? if thats the one you mean then yeah did that.

To the diag .. yeah just found that too thank you ... so you have just blocked the check valve off ??? and that dissables the booster??

or do i have to do anything else ???

anyone know somewhere in east melbourne i can pick up a master cylinder ??

also .. if there is an issue with the hydraulic's in the booster .. will blocking the check valve completely disable the unit ?
