im doing a rebuild on my tt z im hoping to have close to 400 rwkw but i dont know what to do with my auto is there a strong tip / step tronic or Quik shift with no clutch? thanks
Shift At Will won't strengthen the auto if anything it will aid in it's destruction. If you are chasing those sorts of figures and wan't the transmission to last you will need to get the valve body reworked to increase oil flow to the planetary gears, stronger bands made of kevlar and a few other tweaks auto places know what to do. Also it has been known that the OEM flexplate does not cope well with high horsepowered engines and hard shifting transmissions. Specialty Z make a billet alloy flexplate that fits the bill but cost a few $$$$. An external oil cooler is also essential for auto transmission logevity. Don't get me wrong, the Shift At Will kit is a brilliant piece of work and great to make your auto perform, but it's just like a turbo upgrade on an engine, push it to hard without the relevant supporting mods and BANG!!!
KEAS make a manual valve body for our trans which i am going to get. You might want to talk to them. Paul knows his stuff! www.keas.com.au
Depending on your cash flow but i think UAS sell a racing Auto tranny for about 2600, but you would have to askk them if SAW will work on that tranny and you would need to addd the cost of SAW and a tranny cooler
SAW will work on any JATCO RE403A or RE401A. It replaces the factory control module located next to the ECU so unless the new transmission uses a different wiring circuit for the solenoids which in that case the factory module will not work either.
Well im pretty sure this is a standard gearbox just pre worked so it should work but not 100% sure so as i said best to check
i have a RE4R01A RC43 gearbox and recently installed some upgraded parts... i had a "stage 2" valve body upgrade (stage 1 is for towing and stage 3 is a fully manualised valve body that shifts with the auto shifter).. shifts are now instantaneous and chirps from first to second plus, its not too harsh at low speeds either... i also had a "high-stall" torque converter made. stock allowed a 1800rpm stall, but this allows one to stall up to 3200rpm. The stall itself is rated at 2800rpm (but you can actually take it higher as long as you don't wheelspin!). this allows me to generate about 6psi at the line car fells no different for daily driving either! parts around $700 install about 5 hours of labour i had them made by MV automatics in adelaide. they make them, ship them to you and then after you have them installed (by your regular mechanic) you send the old parts back to get a refund of like $50. contact details: Mike at MV AUTOMATICS 1 Stirling Rd Blackwood SA 5051 (08) 8370 0430 call them and ask mroe about upgraded bands etc. Mike knows his nissan gearboxes...
