thermo fan prob

    hey guys

    i have problem with me two front thermo fans on me '84 z31...
    the engine starts to over heat and they dont turn on, just wonderin if anyone knows what to do about it, because im still trying to chase down a workshop manual for the car so i havnt got a clue.

    if you can help us out that would be great, and also if you can point out where the engine thermostat is that would be great too.

    As I dont think you will find any tech info on your car in this forum
    as we mostly have Z32
    I could be wrong some one here mite own one and give you the info you need but check out the site any way.

    Check that they are plugged in, of course. On the front of the right hand head (from front of car with bonnet up) you should see a temperature sender unit. Make sure this baby is ok. One fan comes on at 90 degrees, the other comes on at 100, with the original upping speed (it should be a two speed fan)

    And yes, I mite own one!

    I might also be able to talk to you about manuals (the reading kind) if you fire me an email.

    wouldnt it be bascly the same as the z 32

    every car ive had works basicly the same , there should be 2 temp senders near your thermostat the one with 2 terminals is the thermo fan switch usually unplug it and bridge it out with a peice of wire they should switch on , if they do its the sensor thats the problem , if they dont check the wireing and the relay
