Z32 has it all over the rest for design, and speed !!

Ther Z33 was designed by an Englishman from Huddersfield, and it looks like he has got involved with the new skylark too. What a sexless shape, looks to be put together from spare parts hanging around nissans factory. Definately does nothing for the EGo.

Z32 TT beat a new 350z by a car length over 1/5th mile on Top Gear TV show.

    We own the classic
I would still shag it if I could
Tuned up, it goes sub 5 secs to 100 and another 5 to get to 160 and thats with relatively stock internals, just tweaked. Not many sports cars can boast the same.

300ZX was born in the peak of booming Japanese economy.

350zx was given birth by cheap Renault to go back to former Nissan glory. Many Jap frineds agree that Nissan is no longer Nissan but mere a family car manufacturer.
I have seen in Japanese NHK TV program how our Z was developed in late 60s and I was so amazed how much effort Nissan designers put and how great their dedication to this car was.
Well, it is not all done by some computer graphic called CAD through clicking instead of using brain.
I would never like the New 350z. Worse Skyline

Yeah Matt thats my car...also. How is it that FORD & CHRYSLER..

Can produce cars that are so Iconic to their older generations?

Take the latest Jaguar XJ... its called an XJ cos it IS an XJ... sleek.. smooth..powerful.. long and low.. exactly like the XJ6 Series 1 , 2 and 3s that went from the 70s to late 80s powered by DOHC 6s and the v12.. now v8 and s/c v8... simple.. and the best part is Jaguar today are SO PROUD to say that they restored the image of the old XJ.. cos you couldnt beat it back then.

    and the old...totally preserved

When you look at the latest Chrysler 300C.. you know its a big tuff Chrysler saloon.. like the old Vk, VG, VCs that where here.. big, tuff and relaible..

Just an observation that nissan havent preserved the looks of niether the Z or the Skyline!

Motor Mag had a pic a while

ago of the new Godzilla (2007 release i think). It looks a bit better but still very similar to the 350z. That and the fact that Nissan hasn't made a turbo 350 yet kinda made me think the Z series would be the NA and the Skylines made into the TT model. not sure anymore.

The Z32 is not the pinnacle of design, but I still think its superior..

I do not like the styling of the 350Z and much prefer the 300ZX. The fact I prefer the Z32 over the Z33 does not automatically mean that I believe the Z32 is the peak of perfection. It is however in the same family as the Z33 (in fact the Z33 is the Z32 direct successor) and therefore a direct comparison is logical.
Comparing them directly I believe the Z32 has better styling and of course better performance. I see the Z33 as a downgrade and, if the next generation of Z's are no better my relationship with the Z family will end with the Z32.

As for not liking change, that could not be further from the truth. For me however, change should be for the better. Making a point about moving forwards while talking about a car that is designed to bear a resemblance to a car from 30 years in the past is a bit of a contradiction. Maybe I don't appreciate the 350Z style because I recognise it for what it is, a rehash of old design when we should be, as you say, moving forward and forging our own path, not looking over our shoulder at the past because we lack inspiration. But then maybe I just think it is ugly.

I also disagree that the 350Z is the best offering coming out of Japan. With cars such as the NSX, WRX STi, Liberty GT, Mazda 6 MPS, Mitsubishi Evo, RX8 etc the 350Z is certainly not the fastest, best handling or most attractive of the cars Japan currently has on offer.

It is basically an Infinity G35 coupe. I prefer it over the 350Z

I have actually looked at the Infinity 350GT coupe as a serious option. I prefer the styling over the 350Z, especially the rear end. It has 4 seats so it is more practical and is NA so would make a great replacement for my daily driver. It is also every bit as fast as the 350Z (still not in Z32TT territory though). It would not be a replacement for the Z32 however because it simply isn't special enough.

I think with a new grill and a decent body kit is has a lot of potential

Also, I wouldn't get it in white, they look a lot better in black, dark blue or gun metal grey.

The Z32 is not the pinnacle of design, but I still think its superior..

NSX is an old, underpowered (for a supercar) and expensive (for a normal sportscar)car. WRX, Liberty, MPS and Evo have great performance but cant shed their cheap grocerry getter image, 350 simply does not have the class of our zed, the RX8 is a little bit over the top.

Its not current but the two Jap cars that attracts me are the Z32 and the RX7 :zlove::zlove::zlove::zlove:. The Zed in terms of looks cant compete with euro or american exotics, but for a non exotic supercar nothing comes close to the zed :zlove::zlove::zlove:.

That G35 crap is America's attempt to "have" a Skyline in their country...truth is the real R35 isn't made yet...

The Skyline and GTR are delineating into 2 distinct and seperate models

It will no longer be a 'Nissan Skyline GTR' simply a 'Nissan GTR'

It means the Skyline will no longer be able to ride on the coat tails of the GTR.

It does make sense as the relative performance of each produces a natural separation of models.

    Relative performance rankings:

    GTR
    Z
    Skyline

    Oh god that looks ugly!!!!!!!!!!

I hate the front with lines and bulges running everywhere. I also hate that shaker looking thing at the hood.

The view gets worse when you see inside. Looks very uncomfortable and matchboxish looking.

The only angle that i kinda like (not love) would be the second pic of the back and top.

    never heard of that...

z-force is right, thats the new GTR-35 prototype. was released by nissan international a while ago.

the one shown earlier is a gts-35 prototype.
