Hi guys I am in the process of (hopefully) buying a zed... I need some advise regarding what i should tell the insurance company. This won't be my first car but it will be the first car i'm going to be insuring  . I'm guessing because it's a sports performance vehicle I'm gonna have to go through Just Car or a similar company (it's a twin turbo with quite a few mods). I fear, to put it bluntly, that they are going to try and rip me a new one! What do you think i should say/do to minimise the amount of bending over they are going to try and do? Also in your experiences, do they already know what the mods would be worth or do i have to give them a dollar amount for each item? Your help would be appreciated as always. Cheers, Steve
Have a good look through search... Insurance is one of those topics that pop up every month. There is STACKS of info available. Simple answers to your questions are: 1/ Yes most companies will try and rip you a new one. Particularly so if you are young, and the car is turbo. Deal with it. 2/ Don't hide mods from them, or tell them half truths. They have the right to cancel your policy if they discover you have lied, and this includes after an accident when you need them the most. 3/ Ensure that minor details such as mods, car is a grey import etc is written onto your policy so that there can be no disagreement. People have been screwed in the past. 4/ Continue to inform your insurer as you make mods.
If you want to go shannons... Just make sure you answer yes to all the "few simple questions" at the start otherwise the $&#% wont insure you
Re: If you want to go shannons... They didn't even consider me because i didnt have a rating  I feel like i've been spoken to by the soup nazi in Seinfeld... "Come back in one year!"
i went with young and cool cause they where cheaper then just car and because they give you an option of paying by the month. youngandcool
Re: i went with young and cool yeah i'm gonna try them tomorrow... it was already past 5pm when i found their number. If they're cheaper than Just car than great (mind you, they were alot cheaper than i thought they'd be!)
