On the drivers side, hanging out of a pretty thick loom is a big grey

plug and two small earth leads, any ideas as to what they are and where they go? Also the battery earth cable has two lugs for battery earth, where do they bolt to?[IMG][/IMG]

Have a look at pages EL-126 & EL-132

Can remember two small earths that attach to rear top of plenum near centre.

Battery earth cable secures on firewall behind battery then down behind engine near LHS turbo coolant line then on down to the tranny I think.

Hope this helps.

Just did my plenum. My wire loom is for an Aus NA but it is original. So

on my car there are two earth attaching points. These are at the back of the plenum about 100mm either side of centre. On the drivers side there is a single earth cable attached but on the passenger side there are about three earth cables that attach there. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Thanks for the response guys. I think I went into panic mode a little

early. Had a big day finished TX intall, starter motor, drive line, exhaust etc and running wiring looms up and down trying to keep everthing neat and I found the plug that goes into the one in question on the loom that is still hanging over the pass. guard so I' sure I'll find everything as more goes on. At last I've finished under the car and can now concentrate on under the bonnet:thumbsup:

Watching what you are doing I think I would have gone into a panic long

before now. I am watching your progress with interest (as I am sure a lot of other members are) and thank you for the trouble you are going to to let us know what you are doing. With regard to the wiring loom things will become a lot clearer once you get your plenum back on. Cheers and good luck with the rest of the project.

Fiddly bits, driving me around the bend!!! Spent all day under and over

the engine bay, fitting up air pipes, brackets, wiring and re-routing wires and hoses, the A/C compressor, power sreer hoses and bits, getting closer:thumbsup: [IMG][/IMG]

Just a question. Been looking in the Maint. manual -

Engine and Emission Control- but its as clear as mud. Item No 11 is called; Air duct to Right side Air Gallery: It a small nipple (outlet) on top of the drivers side air inlet pipe under the intercooler pipes (hardpipes) I have to know where it goes !( remembering that I have no AIV's or EGR) A TT at my place in Forest Lake ( QLD) on Sunday morning would be a great help at the moment. Because it's on intake air I can't think of what it does

That's either EGR or AIV solenoid vacuum input

(Can't remember which- brain freeze from the monster plenum pull I did yesterday).

In either case as you have bypassed EGR & AIV's, just blank it off (and do same with the other vac spigot just under driver's side inlet on plenum which is the other input(EGR/AIV:wacko:)

One goes to the boost solenoid,

The one just under where the EGR pipes used to be.

A. Whats so "monsterous" about a plenum pull???

B. Thanks very much , I new that with the AIV & EGR removal I'd have a few problems figuring out where everything goes. Thanks again:)

Diabloodybolical- so close but so far, still can't find a connection

[IMG][/IMG]for the connector I enquired about a bit earlier in this thread. I was hoping it would become obvious as I put it together and joined everything up. I may have to get it up in the air again and have a look around the TX and starter motor

Progress report - I've got everything in the engine bay pretty well

done and tidied up. Looks good. Photo's don't do it justice because you can't see all the detail, be good to get it out in the sunlight. Put it back up on the ramps, may have to remove drivers side exhaust and starter motor to give me room to find that damned conector or whatever I've done wrong down there.Whenever I look down at the D/S turbo that empty plug is just looking at me mocking me I'm sure.I'll get the bastard:LOL:

3 plugs from memory that look similar in that area are

1. RH VTC solenoid
2. RH O2
3. RH Wastegate valve control solenoid

Remember when I was doing my plenum the wastegate solenoid plug tried to hide in behind everything.

Those three are plugged in. And still it mocks me, smug prick of a

thing.I dunno, the loom is about a inch thick, runs up behind drivers headlight, pretty close together out of that loom comes the big grey plug and Two small earths just behind (to the rear) and above D/S turbo. Going to have a serious look 2morrow,if not successfull have to go back to work Wed. and when I come back may have to look at a TT somewhere

How many wires are running into that plug and what colour

combination are they? Might be able to work it back from the wiring diagram as to where its heading.
