Perfect timing for this thread for me. R/C Drifting advice in SA please????

Okay........ decided a few weeks ago to get into the Radio Controlled drifting game. Why? Cos a track just opened not far from my house and cos it just looks like a lot of fun. I think that vid proves it.

    Questions:

Does anyone know anywhere in Adelaide I can get a better price on one of the full drifting kits than $625. I want to buy brand new and I don't want to buy off eBay, cos I want a warranty and back-up assistance availability from the shop I buy it from in case I dunno what the hell I'm doing.

Next I wanna know if it is worth spending the extra $450 for the new motor that has just come out that has supposedly lots more power and never needs rebuilding cos the bushes don't wear out?

Also after advice regarding the rear tyres people use? I know there are a few different types and that they have smooth plastic inserts in them to maintain driftage, but is it possible to use rubber slicks and still get good drifting happening?

Lastly........ spare bodies for the 190mm cars seem to be $55. Some seem to pop-up on eBay for around $40, but not a very good range. Anyone know somewhere to get a better price and for a good range of different car bodies?

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

I don't know about price but I would recommend Hobby Habit

on Main North Rd. I played around with 1/8th nitro buggies for a while and they were always great for service and stocked any part you could want
