Hi guys i was wondering if someone could pin point this problm. Have lound rattling noise coming from underneath the middle of car. The noise occurs in neutral and while driving. It becomes louder when the throttle is opened up. I think it may be a uni joint between the gearbox and the tailshaft. Would this sound about right?????????????????

Sounds like your centre tailshaft bearing just died. Can you smell burning

rubber coming from under the car??

To replace the centre bearing, you have to drop your exhaust to gain access.
You should also check your uni's for wear as this problem is becoming more frequent.
Do a 'search' and check out one-piece tail shafts.

Absolutely not. Unless you want a broken tailshaft whirling around.

When i first got the car my bearing fully came apart, there was no rubber

on it at all. I drove around like this for 2 weeks. I took the car to Z shop and they said it may have been my oxy sensors and that they had to plug consult in to diagnose the problem and that it would take 3 hours etc etc.

I went to wykked and the moment he heard the first rattle/bang sound he said 'center bearing'. Jumped under the car and it surely was, the tailshaft moved up and down by hand about 1"

Get it fixed asap, it is more annoying than anything else and will only get worse. Buy the drivepro one its way cheaper and works fine.

    Ive had the same issue

can you hear the noise inside your car (coming through your air vents?)

If so its a noisy alternator.

Else it could be your thrust bearing. Check them both. Bout $400-500$ to fix both of these (fitted).

If still problems with noise, which i hope not is warn bearings in your gbox. I had to go through hell. I have posts about it. Lucky i got an insurance payout to fix it!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
