seen different specs quoted. all i know is that i put my TT manual slicktop on a public weighbridge, and it came to 1430kg, with 3/4 tank fuel. if you could take your targa and put it on a weighbridge and report back, then we could have a more definite idea.

My Victorian Reg, sticker shows weight at 1200Kg. As per specifications on 300zx.org. site the slick top is 3299 lbs ( 1496 kg )and the 2+ 2 is 3413 lbs (1548 kg ) SO WHO IS CORRECT ???
slicktop OMG .... ive created a monster:LOL: i have a 2 seater slicktop but the extra seats would be nice,although people do spin out on a 2 seater, i personally think ( bias )that the 2 seater looks more compact and sportier... oh and more tail happy
I also have a Slicktop TT and prefer it to a targa. There is certainly nothing wrong with the targa top 300ZX's however I personally prefer the slicktop. I like the way it looks and the fact that they are less common. It is quite surprising the number of people who think it is some exotic sports car because it looks different to the 300ZX's they have seen. The reduced weight and increased rigidity are just added bonuses.
All down to personal preference! Personally, i like the targa tops as its pretty cool to have the tops down when its a nice day. I also think that looks wise, the 2 seaters seem to look a little bit on the short side when considering how wide the car is. But then thats just me!:zlove: *puts on fireproof vest*
Targas give the zed a Jekyll & Hyde personality........ I went for a drive to the beach one day with the targas on and got a few admiring glances but nothing to write home about. The next day we returned to the same beach with the lids off and heads were twisting in every direction to look at the zed. When we parked it drew a small crowd and hardly anybody walked past it without checking it out. The difference was unbelievable, same car/same beach, no wash or polish between trips, just "lids off". I didn't want targas when I bought the zed and it's very rarely that they come off anyway BUT it is bloody nice to have the choice :thumbsup:
Go the tinlids... I got a slick top with a brazilian and have had a few peopole tell me it makes it look smother... Saying that though i do get targa envy on nice days :LOL: when i could have the top off. I think the only solution to this is going to own one of each.....i wish :zlove: haha
2+2 TT Auto 1570kg almost empty tank From my recent Japanese import weighbridge docket when she loaded in Japan. I'm a 2+2 man. The bag seats useful for putting things in as well as the room behind the front seats. Nothing against the 2 seaters. Perhaps it's like comparing a thoroughbred to a Manx cat And I love my auto trans. John :zlove:
