I have heard people mentioning on various forums that the auto transmission in the zed is the same as the nissam patrol? is this true? how similar are they? Identical? your trying to tell me i can pull a patrol transmission out and put into a zed with no other issues?
I was told by a transmission mechanic that they are the same as the Navara. Don't know if he is right.

The guy that moded the valve body on my auto tranny... said it was the same as the Patrol. They have the same internals. I was told the same thing by another automatic shop. The two guys that I saw have rebuild these before and as soon as you mention 300zx the response is Patrol boxes. I believe the outside may look different but the internals are the same. After a 2 hour Google... so far as I can find, both the 300zx and GQ Patrol used the Jatco RE4-RO3A 4-speed auto. There may be differences in the valving, etc, but the basic gearbox is the same.
