i have read alot of good things about them in search, however nothing on how long they last. they will not be used on the track, just everyday with a bit of spirited driving occasionally. also, my wheels are 350z 17 inch wheels, the rears are 8 inches wide. i have been told the largest size i can put on an 8 inch wide wheel is a 255. true? the rear tyres currently wear evenly, if i put a wider tyre on, will the wear pattern on the tyre change? cheers for your input
I run 18" rims with 235/40 and 265/35 Nexen N3000 tyres. No track days and a reasonable amount of "spirited driving", sees my car doing about 18 months of every day running, per set. This includes numerous "spirited" country road kilometers, on cruises etc. I am very happy with them! (Kindly don't ask for documentary evidence as I don't have any, just my experience with them. ):LOL::LOL:
I have a set of 235x40x17's on the front of mine, have travelled 19534 kilometers in 14 months since i put them on and still have plenty of meat on them. car has been used as a daily driver with plenty of cruises thrown in, also in that time its been up the drag strip a few times and has completed 5 track days at which i'm continually amazed how well they hang on. Bang for buck for a cheap tyre you can't beat them imo.
Caz and I killed a set in about 6000kms of driving around the Kosciuszko National Park, Bathurst, Great Ocean Road and Great Alpine Road and everywhere in between!
Ha ha and I saw the footage of your tour Franz!:LOL: No wonder they wore out in 6000 kms:LOL::thumbsup:. MB
for anyone interested chili recommended to me AGR tyre and wheel centre in Sefton. for Nexen N3000 235/45/17 tyres they quoted me $140 a corner and $45-$50 for a front and rear wheel alignment. absolute bargain in my opinion. cheers chili
My Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 has lasted me 35000km And still has 2mm thread left. I have a 133rwkw NA manual, and that's before the exhaust and underdrive pulley. And I drive the zed the way it should be driven.
They don't come in a 285. I got my local tyre dealer to check last time I was there. At least they don't make a 285 x 18. Don't know about a 275 though. Cheers, Peter
