This was a topic a week or so ago and I think the consensus was to avoid Adelaide Z Cars and go with

    BLACKWOOD DYNO TUNE & SERVICE
    2 Stirling Rd Blackwood 5051 (08) 8370 3450

    OR

    MORPOWA AUTO & DYNO CENTRE
    14 Famechon Crs Modbury North 5092 (08) 8264 2077

I personally go to Unley Nissan and haven't been dissapointed (yet).

    Depends on what's locale...

Out North, try Morpowa @ Modbury
or try ringing Toby Henderson on 0405367088
(he's worked on a few club members Zed and is excellent)

Down South you can try RPM Performance or Turbo Tune @ Edwardstown.

Hard thing is to find someone that isn't learning by working on the Z and therefore charging accordingly, and don't think that Nissan dealers actually have any more idea ;-)

I've used Unley Nissan before too, but it was very expensive and took way longer than it should've.

If you've got lots of work to be done, try to get a fixed quote before the work is done.

You may also be able to get a better deal on parts if you get them yourself (try simon in melb at www.ttzed.com or con in the US at www.conceptzperformance.com - both excellent)

    Cottage Lane Auto at Hackham

I live at Hackham West and have taken all our cars to this place for years. They are a family business. I have always found them honest and very knowledgable. I have had my car for eighteen months. So far they have replaced the clutch, had the drive shaft rebuilt, had the diff reconditioned, replaced the rear struts, replaced brake pads and skimmed discs, replaced tension rod bearings, replaced clutch master cylinder and one oxygen sensor as well as regular maintenance.
Most of this work was needed and done when I first bought it. In the past they have rebuilt most parts of the mechanicals of my cars especially the engines. So far the engine is the one thing I have not had much trouble with in this car (touch wooden head. I find their prices quite reasonable. However they are in to ordinary mechanical repairs and do not have dyno tune equipment. The are just around the corner from Adelaide Z cars and borrow things like a Conzult from them. My car was a dog when I bought it and is now as smooth as silk. I am very happy I get about 12L/100km.

sorry to hear about you only getting 120km out of the tank...

thats shocking, i hope you get it fixed up.

I take my car to either Unley Nissan or Adelaide Z Cars in Hackham for any general work on my z32 (1990+)

Any specialist work like auto trans, and lowering, and exhaust I take to the appropriate specialist...
