Sorry mate.... I want to say congratulation and welcome to u but sorry about what happened to u today. Anyway, don't u have a spare key? Zed should comes with 2 keys but if u don't have one, unfortuneately I think u have to change the whole thing that has key involved, is not cheap it could cost few hundred dollars. just keep an eye on the forum other experience members might be able to help u. Good luck :zlove: 300aj
thats a bugger open your car and take you igniton barrel to a lock smith and they will cut the key for you. It will cost less than $100. shadow
Too easy - i did this a while ago Yeah last year I lost my only key for my project Z, wasted ages looking for it so ended up doing this which wasnt much effort at all : I removed the lock barrel from the rear hatch which only takes a few minutes and has easy access after removing the panel in the boot. I took this to a locksmith and he generated a key from it for $20 in no time at all what a bargain I was gobsmacked ! And of course a week later I found the original key !
Found the key  thnx for your help again guys but i luckily found my key. It was in the stupidest place
If yoiu get another key cut make sure they dont just copy the old key. Get the key code and get them to cut the new one from that. The wear after 15 or so years on keys is incredible. even the titanium key was stuffed. I now have two spares cut to code. They look really different from the old one.
There's one advantage to buying an aus-spec It's probably on a sticker inside the owners manual 'cos that's where mine is!
Its usually stamped on the base of the key near the handle bit On mine it wasnt there. But at the Vermont South shopping centre here in Victoria. The locksmith there is somewhat of a guru. He has zx blank keys in stock and can actually read what the key code is from looking at the key. Apparently there is some weirdo locksmith way of, looking at the shape that lets them work it out. He has all the profiles on the computer and after he narrows it down he can find every one on the screen. He then reads the code sets the cutting machine and a perfect key comes out. All for $7.00 Bargain!! This guy sends keys all over the world. Last time I was there he was teaching a bloke from Lockwood the ins and outs of key cutting. Anyone who bought one of those new Titanium keys and had it copy cut from their old keys would need their head examined. They need to be cut RIGHT or its a big amount of money to lose. There is a big risk of it not working if its copy cut. All you have to do to get a key is send a photocopy of the key and he works it all out and mails it back to you. Thats how he does the overseas ones.
