clear coat removal from chrome

    just wondering how to remove clear coat from chrome without damaging it?

    Paint stripper should do the job.....

    the chrome (assuming it is real chrome) will not be effected because it is "metallic" coating.

    Just to be safe try it on the rear side of the wheel first in case it's NOT real chrome.

    ok, first up if the chromework has a good surface the clear shouldnt be stuck to it that well, if the item is metal and not plastic try soaking it in thinners (multipurpose) before taking the stripper method, but if all else fails try stripper in a non conspicuous place

    it's actually on my wheels and some of it has come off so I guess it isn't stuck to it that well. I'll give thinners a go first, thanks.
