i read the tech atricle by K-Zed but when i was trying to remove the intake hoses they wouldnt come off the rubber has created a light seal, so is there some sort of trick to get the hoses off or does it just take alittle more force

the come off by sliding them down first.

After loosening the clamps, slide them further onto the pipes and away from the throttle bodies. You can usually twist them off from here, but they'll need a lot of coaxing, especially the older and more brittle they have become.

The hoses come loose easier if they are warm

You can carefully try to break the seal with a small screwdriver & spray a bit of lube or soapy water, but if the hoses are old & brittle it is easy to split them

Or just pour some warm/hot water over them

    I had the same problem.

K-zed suggested detergent, Wykked suggested a hair dryer.

I used both and off they came easy as you please. Before the treatment they were as hard as rocks.

    Cheers:zlove:

zedkid - if the hose is quite warm, and u give it a good twist, should come

    off quite easily.

i am having similar troubles on my na

however its not with the large intake hose but
the small hoses attached to them. they prevent me from moving the larger hose to access the throttle body. is there an easy way to remove these as pulling them out seems impossible.

    job done

i finished cleaning the throttle body... there was a lot of gunk there. also the getting the hoses off part was easy compared to getting the hoses back on part, that was a PITA... i cleaned the pod filter aswel so hopefuly this will solve my 300km to a full tank of petrol problem.
